Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. How many children survived The Midnight Game in the 1950s?

Answer: One

In the 1950s, a group of kids plays a game in the creepy attic of their manor house. One of the rules, to light a candle before an allotted time runs out, is failed, and as one skeptical kid leaves their safe circle of salt, it appears that they've broken a serious rule. For doing this, she's decapitated in the shadows.
Anna and Max run through the house from the murdering Midnight Man. Max ends up trying to leave the house, but it's a rule not to, so it crashes down on him, killing him instantly. Anna ends up being the only survivor of the game.
2. Alex is of what relation to Anna?

Answer: Granddaughter

In the present day, Alex struggles to ensure her grandmother follows the doctor's orders. Despite Anna's dour demeanour, it's clear she loves her granddaughter, even if she has to argue with her constantly. As it seems though, Alex had to come back to town to take care of her grandmother; she pulled out of school to do so. Now she wanders the halls of the manor listening to her grandmother's inane chatter on the manor intercoms and waiting on her, resetting antique clocks, and clearing pails filled with leaks. Alex, looking for something to do on one night, invites her old friend, Miles, to the house.
3. Anna spends a great deal of time talking about which of these flowers which she used to grow?

Answer: Roses

In her frequent ramblings, Anna brings up the gardens and the roses that she and her late husband used to attend to, but all that Alex ends up tending to during her stay with her grandmother seems to be wax flowers. Anna, when asking about the roses, often makes cryptic mentions of memories at the same time.

At one point, Anna tells her granddaughter to head to the attic to search for an old, silver vanity mirror in a chest. Alex does this just as Miles arrives and in the chest they find a sealed, heavy box. Acting against all instinct, they open it, which is obviously a horrible idea.
4. Which of these do Alex and Miles not find in the box in the attic?

Answer: Knives

Opening the box in the attic, Mile and Alex find a salt shaker, some old candles, a pencil, a sewing needle, and a list of names, all marked with blood They also find a small box of photos, on the back of which featured the subjects' names, dates of birth, and greatest fears.

While looking over these, Alex and Miles are surprised when Anna, who's never left her bedroom in years, stands over them screaming that they've opened the game. Dr. Harding, her physician, needs to show up and send her back to bed; he suggests locking her in her room since the house is unsafe for her.
5. Alex and Miles find the rules for 'The Midnight Game' online.

Answer: False

Alex and Miles find the rules in the weird box they opened, and despite Anna's outburst over their finding it, they decide to follow the rules and play it, as is the expectation when you're a wise person with sense and tact. It's called 'The Midnight Game'. You have to call the Midnight Man to play the game, and to do that you have to write your name on a piece of paper (they use the same piece as Anna did).

Then, you have to use a needle and prick your finger, placing a single drop of blood next to your name.

After lighting a candle, you need to turn off all the houselights, then take the paper with the blood to the front door of the house. The door must be wood and the paper must be taped to it. And then...it gets complicated apparently.
6. How many times are you required to knock on a door to summon the Midnight Man?

Answer: Twenty-two

At midnight, the players must knock on the front door of the house twenty-two times before the final stroke of midnight. Then, you need to go outside and blow out the candle and then go back inside and relight it. The Midnight Man will then be in the house. You need to avoid him at all costs until 3:33. At that point in the rules, the page is torn.
While Alex and Miles check the box for the rest of the rules, the intercom goes off and Alex decides she needs to check on her grandmother.
Miles finds the other rules in a book, and not a moment too soon; Alex makes it upstairs to her grandmother's room at the same time and ends up getting herself into a sticky situation that defies the rules.
7. What is Anna's worst fear?

Answer: Blood

As per the extra rules of The Midnight Game, you can not fall asleep during the game. You may not stay in the same place the whole time either, since that means the Midnight Man will get you. If your candle goes out, you have ten seconds to relight it, otherwise you need to surround yourself with a circle of salt for protection. If any of these rules are broken, the Midnight Man will manifest your worst nightmares. Anna blows out her granddaughter's candle, and when ten seconds pass, the Midnight Man appears to determine that Anna's worst fear is blood.

This does, of course, lead to her being submerged in a bathtub full of the stuff. When Miles finds her it turns out to be all in her mind. Miles makes her stay in a circle of salt for her own safety and retrieves her candle.
8. What, according to the Midnight Man, is Miles' worst fear?

Answer: Pain

Miles claims to have run a little experiment while Alex went to help her grandmother that led him to believe in the power of The Midnight Game. Blowing his candle out and waiting the proper time, her ended up coming face to face with a creepy mannequin and his worst fear: pain. When Alex defied the rules, the Midnight Man left him alone and he had the chance to save her.
Closer to 1am, Miles' former-Goth friend, Kelly, shows up having been invited by Miles before the game started. She seems to know a fair bit about the Midnight Man because it seems to have established rules, kind of like some sort of creepypasta (because it is), and she insists they need her help. She opts to put her name in to play alongside them, like a smart person.
The whole thing further complicates when Alex remembers that her mother committed suicide in the house, quite possibly because she played the game.
9. Kelly, as it would seem, did which of the following as a child?

Answer: Killed a pet

The players head to the sun room of the house for some reason, and as the Midnight Man draws nearer, Kelly's candle ends up going out because a leaky pipe drips onto it. They struggle to relight it, so Kelly is forced to make a salt circle to protect herself while she waits for the others to grab her a new candle. The Midnight Man shows up, of course, and tries to destroy her salt circle by nefarious, unfair means. He certainly does, analyzing her deepest fear and causing her to try and kill herself.
In another room, Dr. Harding surprises Miles and Alex by telling them that he was there the night Anna played the Midnight Game. He was never allowed to play, but he was saved as a result. He does know, however, that the Midnight Man is some sort of Pagan God who only believes in punishment, and he will cheat to do that.
Elsewhere in the house, Kelly continues to be assaulted by the Midnight Man, finally being killed after repeatedly reliving her worst nightmares-- having a pet she killed seek revenge on her.
10. How does the Midnight Man trick Anna and Miles in the end?

Answer: He changes the clocks in the house to a later time.

Dr. Harding tells Alex and Miles that they need to head to the attic to destroy the box and end the game, and that's where Alex realizes the truth: her mother never committed suicide and her grandmother has purposely been forcing people to play The Midnight Game to satisfy the demon. All this time, Anna has been used as a conduit for the Midnight Man. She appears in the attic to kill Dr. Harding and Alex is forced to use the gun that was found in the chest in the attic to kill her and put an end to that link.
But it's not over. The Midnight Man appears to Anna and Miles while they sit in the salt circle and the clock chimes 3:30. With only three minutes to spare, the two of them watch as the creature claims the bodies still lying in the attic. They wait until 4am to leave the circle...to discover that the Midnight Man changed all the clocks in the house and fool them into leaving the circle early. Both are killed almost instantly thereafter.

And that's kind of it. Except someone ends up buying the game from an estate sale at the manor. As you do.
