Blanche snapped and tried to run Jane down with the car. Jane was too drunk to remember what really happened, so Blanche told her it was her fault for Blanche's disability. Jane had spent most of her life torturing Blanche because she thought she was the one who had paralyzed Blanche, when it was really Blanche's fault.

The doctor finally agreed to visit the Hudsons' house when Blanche broke free and made her way down the stairs. Jane caught Blanche on the phone with the doctor, and she beat her almost to death.

It was just a variation of the song played different ways. You first saw Jane singing it in the 1917 flashback when she was performing on stage with her father.

The second time was when she got drunk and realized she wasn't a baby anymore. The third time was when she was performing in front of Edwin. The song was about a girl who wrote a letter to her dead father.
