All of these brands are either mentioned or seen in the film's opening number "The Candyman Can". While rival candymakers Slugworth, Prodnose and Fickelgruber are all mentioned in the original book, Prodnose is never referenced anywhere in this film.

When the reporter starts talking to him during his interview about finding the first Golden Ticket, Augustus shoves a big piece of knockwurst into his mouth. According to the DVD commentary, this scene was tough for the actor who played Augustus to pull off because knockwurst was something he didn't particularly like.

During her first interview, Violet gloatingly talks about how she beat the gum chewing record that was previously held by her best friend Cornelia Prinzemetal.

When Charlie walks up to the counter to ask for a Wonka Bar, you can see the boy sitting on a stool nearby. I'll bet that boy is sorry that he didn't buy the Wonka bar with the last Golden Ticket inside it.

If you pay close attention when Mike is signing, you'll notice he spells his name "Mike T.V." Apparently, the director told him to do this so that the scene could be filmed quicker.

You can spot this during the scene where Wonka knocks some candy off of a tree for Mike. In the same scene, you may also notice that Veruca's knee is bloody in one shot. This is because the actress cut her knee on a rock during the first take.
