Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Which movie with Kiefer Sutherland was loosely based on "Little Red Riding Hood"?

Answer: Freeway

The movie began with references to the children's story "Little Red Riding Hood". A teenage girl's mother and stepfather were arrested for possessing drugs, and other crimes. The girl was told that she would go to a foster home, but she wanted to go to her grandmother's house.

She took off with a car, which broke down on the freeway. She was picked up by a man who turned out to be the I-5 Killer. When he attacked the girl, she shot him in the face. The girl was arrested for attempted murder because the I-5 Killer was a respected child counselor.

After the man recovered, he found out where the girl's grandmother lived. Meanwhile, the girl escaped from juvenile prison and finally got to her grandmother's house, where the man (Kiefer Sutherland) was hiding under the covers.
2. In which movie did Cuba Gooding Jr. play a man who drove a bus full of people dressed like Lucille Ball from "I Love Lucy"?

Answer: Rat Race

The movie "Rat Race" involved several people in Las Vegas who were given keys to a locker in another town and told that the locker held money. Whoever got there first could keep the money. Several wealthy people made bets to see who would get there first. One of the people racing was stranded in the desert by an angry cab driver.

The man replaced a bus driver who was taking a bus load of Lucille Ball impersonators to a convention.
3. In which movie was Clouseau almost killed by The French Connection to impress The Godfather?

Answer: Revenge of the Pink Panther

In "Revenge of the Pink Panther" someone referred to as "The French Connection" wanted to prove to "The Godfather" that he was still in control of organized crime in France. He decided to have Chief Inspector Clouseau killed. He called Clouseau and told him he would tell him who the French Connection was if Clouseau met him somewhere. On the way to the meeting, Clouseau picked up Russo, a transvestite criminal, thinking Russo was a woman. Russo pulled out a gun and forced Clouseau to pull over and trade clothes. Russo drove Clouseau's car until it was shot by criminals.

The car crashed and exploded, killing Russo. The world thought Clouseau was dead while Clouseau was arrested, because the police thought he was Russo.
4. In which 1970s movie did the United Nations building disappear?

Answer: The Pink Panther Strikes Again

Dreyfus, the former boss of Chief Inspector Clouseau, escaped from the mental institution and captured a scientist who worked on Operation Looking Glass. Professor Fassbender built a Doomsday Device which could send anything to another dimension by zapping it with a large laser beam.

This was explained in the paperback novel of the movie. Dreyfus appeared on televisions all over the world and threatened to make the United Nations building disappear. When the U.N. disappeared, he told everyone to kill Clouseau.

The TV news erroneously reported that Clouseau was dead, but when Dreyfus discovered Clouseau was disguised as a dentist, the machine was set to make England disappear.
