Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. 'Heaven'?

Answer: DJ Sammy

This song stayed in the top ten for quite some time and was originally sung by Bryan Adams. This is one of my personal favourite songs of the year.
2. 'Round Round'?

Answer: Sugababes

2002 has proven to be the Sugababes' most successful year, with the top ten hits 'Round Round', 'Freak Like Me', and 'Stronger'.
3. 'Lose Yourself'?

Answer: Eminem

This song is featured on the soundtrack of the film '8 Mile' in which Eminem plays the lead role.
4. 'Asereje'?

Answer: Las Ketchup

This song, also known as 'The Ketchup Song', stayed in the UK top 10 for 12 weeks in 2002.
5. 'Dilemma'?

Answer: Nelly

This song was one of the most successful songs of the year in the UK and many other countries around the world. This is Kelly Rowland's first hit without the group Destiny's Child.
6. 'Just Like a Pill'?

Answer: Pink

This was Pink's first UK number one hit.
7. 'Sound of the Underground'?

Answer: Girls Aloud

This sound was the Christmas number for Girls Aloud. Girls Aloud was the product of the second version of the television show 'Popstars' along with One True Voice(the all male group). The two groups were created by the show and were released to battle it out for the Christmas number one. Girls Aloud won and One True Voice peaked at number two.
8. 'Colourblind'?

Answer: Darius

Darius was also involved in the original 'Popstars' but was not chosen for the group, possibly due to his very strange performance of the Britney hit 'Hit me baby, one more time'. However, he has since auditioned for the show 'Pop Idol' and failed again, but still landed himself a recording contract and earned a number one hit.
9. 'Just a Little'?

Answer: Liberty X

2002 has seen many products of the shows 'Pop Idol' and 'Popstars', such as Darius, Gareth Gates, Will Young, Hear'say (who thankfully split up this year as well), Rosie Ribbons, Girls Aloud, One True Voice, Jessica Garlik, Sarah Whatmore, Rik Waller and possibly more. Liberty X is made of the five people rejected from the original 'Popstars' (Hear'say) and have come out the better and more successful group- how ironic.
10. 'Whenever, Wherever'?

Answer: Shakira

Although this song only made it to number two, it was still the seventh bestselling song of the year, and so I thought it deserved to be included in this quiz.
