1. What was the #10 hit for the year 1974? "She's one hell of a woman, Young, strong and tame, But soft when she loves me, Like a gentle kitten in my hand."

Answer: One Hell of a Woman

Written by Davis and James, "One Hell of a Woman" was a big hit for Mac Davis. It's the second song in the BRI lists that I have no recollection of at all, not even when I play a clip off of the internet. Perhaps it was more of a hit other places in the world than it was in the corner of Canada where I grew up.

Answer: Bennie and the Jets

Elton John took his stage name from the combined names of Elton Dean, and John Baldry (also known as Long John Baldry), two musicians he had worked with and respected.
