Eric Clapton is nicknamed "Slowhand". The reference is not from his style of play though. Eric Clapton was a member of the band The Yardbirds, also featuring Jeff Beck and Jimmy Page. One of my favourite albums is "Unplugged", released in 1992. An acoustic version of "Tears in Heaven" is on the album. A very sad song about the death of his son Conor in 1991.

A group from Scotland formed in 1973. Their biggest hit was "January" released in 1975. Artists in the band were David Paton, Billy Lyall ,Stuart Tosh and Ian Bairnson.

Bad Company formed in 1973. The original members were Paul Rodgers, Simon Kirke, Mick Ralphs and Boz Burrell. The first album "Bad Company" was released in June 1974. "Straight Shooter" was the follow up album in 1975.

Only three hits from this Nottingham based band. "The Night Chicago Died", "The Black-Eyed Boys". The biggest hit for Paper Lace was "Billy - Don't Be A Hero". Two albums were recorded by Paper Lace. "Paper Lace and Other Bits of Material" and "First Edition" released in 1975.

The U.S.A band Bo Donaldson and the Heywoods also did a cover version of the song, released at the same time in 1974. It made the number one spot in the U.S.

A band from the Netherlands. 32 albums had been released from this Dutch rock band from 1965-2006. Golden Earring have also recorded 18 compilations albums from 1968-2006. "Radar Love" is a great music track when driving your car. A real rock classic.

Answer: Jethro Tull

Ian Anderson was the leader of the band Jethro Tull. You could say Ian Anderson has a strange style of playing the flute, and you would be right.

Answer: David Essex

David Essex starred in the musical, "Godspell", in 1971. The song "Rock On" was featured on the film "That'll Be The Day" in 1973. David Essex played the part of Jim Maclaine and Ringo Starr ( Ex Beatle ) played the role of Mike.

Answer: Lynyrd Skynyrd

The front-man for the band Lynyrd Skynyrd was Ronnie Van Zant. Another big hit for the band was "Free Bird" written by Allen Collins and Ronnie Van Zant. In October 20, 1977 the members of the band were involved in a plane crash which claimed the life of Ronnie Van Zant, Steve Gaines, and Cassie Gaines.

Answer: Paul McCartney and Wings

Wings was formed by the ex-Beatle Paul McCartney and Denny Laine, the ex-member of the Moody Blues. Other members of the band were his wife Linda McCartney and the last musician was Denny Seiwell, who was the band's drummer. Henry McCullough joined the band in 1971. A big hit for Wings was "Live and Let Die" the theme music for the James Bond movie "Live and Let Die".
