It's been at least 40 years since "Busted" was a hit, and Matt, Charlie and James only formed their band in the 2000's. It's doubtful the boys took this song title as inspiration for the bands name!

"Blue" appears to be a popular choice for a song title, as artists such as the Fine Young Cannibals, Way Out West, The Verve and Symposium have all scored hits with this title. The boy band Blue have been involved in a dispute over their name with 70s rockers Blue. In the end, the older band agreed that the younger Blue could carry on using their name.

In reality, they were named after their lead singer, Paul King, who later went onto presenting music shows on MTV.
