Peggy Lee was born Norma Deloris Egstrom in Jamestown, North Dakota, U.S.A., on May 26, 1920. She became a jazz and popular music singer/songwriter/composer and actress, over seven decades. She sued the Disney Company for unpaid royalties for her performance and singing in the 1987 VHS release of the (1955) animated movie "Lady and the Tramp" and won. "Lady and the Tramp" was first released in America on VHS cassette and Laser Disc in 1987. Peggy Lee was asked to promote the release and was paid $500. After the release she asked for performance and singing royalties. The Disney company CEO Michael Eisner refused, so Peggy Lee sued in 1988 after the VHS release had grossed $100,000,000. In 1992 she received $3,200,000 plus $600,000 for legal fees. Peggy Lee died of complications from diabetes and a heart attack in Los Angeles, California, U.S.A., on January 21, 2002 aged 81. Vera Lynn was born Vera Margaret Welch in East Ham, Essex, England, on the 20 March 1917. She made her first record on 17 February 1935 with The Howard Baker Band, it was called "It's Home". She was the "Forces' Sweetheart" during WWII but was still having a number of UK chart hits during the '50s. She had a number one hit with "Auf Wiederseh'n, Sweetheart" for nine weeks on the Billboard pop chart in 1952 which peaked at number ten on the UK Singles Chart the same year. She had one UK number one hit in 1954 with "My Son, My Son" which was number one for two weeks. She had her own TV shows in the '70s and '80s and performed on other TV shows which included the "Royal Variety Performance" on seven occasions between 1951 and 1990. She became a Dame in the New Year's Honours list in 1975. In September 2009 at the age of 92, she became the oldest living artist to reach number one on the UK album chart. Vera Lynn died on the 18 June 2020 in Ditchling, East Sussex, England, aged 103.

He died of an apparent drug overdose two years after having a mental breakdown. He had number one hits with "The Story Of My Life" (two weeks in 1958) and "Starry Eyed" (one week in 1960). Frankie Vaughan died on September 17 1999 in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, England, aged 71. He died of heart failure at home. He had number one hits with "The Garden Of Eden" (four weeks in 1957) and "Tower Of Strength" (three weeks in 1961). Ken Dodd died on March 11 2018 in Knotty Ash, Liverpool, England, aged 90. He died at home after being hospitalized for six weeks with a chest infection. He had a number one hit with "Tears" (five weeks in 1965).

On the previous day he had returned to the recording studio to complete a new ten-track album with the producer Joe Vulpis.
