Answer: His latest flame

"(Marie's the Name) of his Latest Flame" was a number one hit for Elvis in 1961. "A very old friend came by today 'Cause he was telling everyone in town Of the love that he just found And Marie's the name of his latest flame." Of course his mate's latest flame sounded suspiciously like Elvis's girl! Trouble ahead I guess. I always preferred the other side, "Little Sister", (check out Ry Cooder's version on "Bop 'Til You Drop"). A little while later Elvis was in love with "The Girl of My Best Friend" so a case of swings and roundabouts I guess.

23. This is a song about a boy who is leaving his loved ones. The one singing it to him fears he or she may be dead when the boy returns. The old song is known and loved by many around the world, especially the Irish. What is the name of this song?

From Quiz A Boy Named Sue

Answer: Danny Boy

Songwriter, Frederic Weatherly, using the old ballad tune, "Londonderry Aire", wrote the words in 1910. It has been recorded by dozens of famous artists since then. But only one version has been banned by the BBC, that of Conway Twitty, in 1957. I wondered why, so listened to it on You Tube, now I know. I like Conway Twitty, but his version is bad. It starts out slow but then is jazzed up to the extreme. The song is used sometimes for funerals, and was played at the funeral of Elvis Presley, who loved the song and recorded it.

26. Whilst listening to the 2010 track "Replay", the lyrics of which state that "Shorty's like a melody in my head", it became clear to me that Shorty is/was a singer himself. What is the name of the artist who released "Replay" as his debut single?

From Quiz Who the Heck is "Shorty"?

Answer: Iyaz

A singer? That meant that my first thought of King John of England (whose birthday is also December 24th) was ruled out as a suspect. As mentioned in the question, Shorty is a "he". I arrived at this conclusion with the help of Urban Dictionary, which stated that "Shorty" was a term originally used for a male. Now, however, the name is often applied to an attractive female, especially when used by male rap artists. Iyaz was said to have been "discovered" by Sean Kingston, who is himself fairly new to the music industry. The two artists were brought together through MySpace, which many music acts use as a place of self-promotion. Iyaz, whose real name is Keidran Jones, is a Virgin Islander and his second release - "Solo" - was filmed in his beautiful home country.
