Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. "I've heard new born babies wailin', Like a mornin' dove..."

Answer: Shelter from the Storm

From "Blood on the Tracks", released in 1975. For a laugh, try singing this song to the tune of "The Beverly Hillbillies" theme.
2. "And all the remnants of her recent past, are scattered in the wild wind..."

Answer: Black Diamond Bay

From "Desire", released in 1976. This has always been one of my favorite songs. The song does, however, date itself with the line, "I was sittin' home alone one night, in L.A. watchin' old Cronkite..."
3. "In that last hour of need, we entirely agreed, sacrifice was the code of the road..."

Answer: Where are You Tonight?

Released in 1978, "Street Legal" has never been one of Dylans more popular albums. Paul Williams, an unabashed Dylan fan and biographer, called this album, "too clever." Personally, I like this album very much.
4. "They say that patriotism is the last refuge, To which a scoundrel clings..."

Answer: Sweetheart Like You

"Infidels" was released in 1983. Bob Dylan, after converting to Christianity in the late seventies(upsetting many of his fans-and not for the first time), swung back toward Judaism with this album.
5. "Little red wagon, little red bike, I ain't no monkey, but I know what I like" is a Bob Dylan lyric.

Answer: True

From the song "Buckets of Rain" on "Blood on the Tracks." The line ends, " I like the cool way, you look at me, everything about you, is bringin' me misery."
6. "Suddenly I found you and the spirit in me sings, Don't have to look no further, you're the soul of many things."

Answer: Something There is About You

The album "PLanet Waves" was released in 1974, and was the debut of The Band on a Dylan Album. For those of you who remember vinyl, side A ended with the slow version of "Forever Young", and side B began with the up-tempo version.
7. "Throw my ticket out the window, Throw my suitcase out there, too..."

Answer: Tonight I'll be Staying Here With You

From the album "Nashville Skyline". Bob Dylan collaberated with Johnny Cash on this album. On the liner notes to the album is a poem by Cash, "Of Bob Dylan". This is what Cash writes about Dylan, "There are those that are complete unto themselves, Whole, undaunted - a source..."
8. "Ev'rybody wants to be my friend, but nobody wants to get higher."

Answer: Long-Distance Operator

"Basement Tapes", released in 1975 is a collection of songs put together by Bob and The Band at "Big Pink", a house that The Band rented in upstate New York. The Band later released a solo album titled, "Songs from the Big Pink".
9. Pistol shots ring out in the barroom night, Enter Patty Valentine from the upper hall..."

Answer: Hurricane

"Hurricane", as well as most of the songs on "Desire", was co-written by Jacques Levy, a composer and director. Levy directed "Oh Calcutta" at the Belasco Theatre in New York From 1969 to 1972.
10. They ask me how I feel, And if my love is real, And how I know I'll make it through."

Answer: I Believe in You

All of these songs except "In the Garden" are from 1979's "Slow Train Coming". "In the Garden" was released in 1980 on the album "Saved". I hope you enjoyed my quiz, thanks for playing.
