Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. "Near, far, wherever you are."

Answer: My Heart Will Go On

It might go without saying, but "My Heart Will Go On" would likely be Celine Dion's trademark song. An international and multiplatinum hit, this song from the "Titanic" soundtrack swept awards the world over (winning Oscars, Grammy Awards, and Golden Globes) and hit number one on the charts in twenty-five different countries.

It went on to become one of the top singles of the 1990s and one of the bestselling songs of all time. Dion would feature it on her fifth English album, "Let's Talk About Love", which released in 1997.
2. "When I touch you like this, and I hold you like that..."

Answer: It's All Coming Back to Me Now

Originally written for late-'80s girl group Pandora's Box, "It's All Coming Back to Me Now" was a bombastic track from Dion's "Falling Into You" album, released in 1996. The first track on the disc, it's a song considered by critics to be a perfect fit for a rock opera as Celine belts out lyrics inspired by "Wuthering Heights", per original writer Jim Steinman.

The song went double platinum in the U.S. and hit number two on the Billboard Hot 100 (appearing on six other American charts) while also topping lists in Canada. Meat Loaf would go on to cover the song himself in 2006, though his own production team was the one to help Celine bring it together the first time.
3. "Hush, love. I see a light in the sky."

Answer: A New Day Has Come

Written about Celine's first son, René-Charles, "A New Day Has Come" was her first hit of the 2010s and the lead single from her seventh English album (of the same name). Though it only hit number twenty-two on the Billboard Hot 100, the song was still a modest success for the artist reaching the top of the Billboard Adult Contemporary Chart and appearing on year-end charts across the globe in 2002.

It would be her strongest offering from the album; "I'm Alive", the second single, didn't reach the same consistent heights.
4. "Could taste your sweet kisses, your arms open wide."

Answer: I Drove All Night

A cover of a track first made by Cyndi Lauper (but originally written for Roy Orbison), "I Drove All Night" seemed best-suited for Dion and acted as the first single on her 2003 album "One Heart". A dance-pop banger befitting the music scene in its year, it was extremely successful for Celine, topping the singles charts in Canada, Sweden, and Belgium. Though it failed to make much success on the Billboard Hot 100, it did reach number two on the US Dance Club Songs Chart, a surprising trajectory considering the tone of tracks Dion released less than a decade earlier.
5. "'Cause I'm your lady and you are my man."

Answer: The Power of Love

A cover of Jennifer Rush's 1984 pop ballad, Celine's version of "The Power of Love" would hit the radio airwaves in 1994 to become one of the top pop tracks of the year, peaking at number one on the Australian ARIA Chart, on four Canadian charts, and on the US Billboard Hot 100, marking her first such hit outside of her home country. With only "Beauty and the Beast" to her name in most nations, "The Power of Love" showcased Dion's powerful vocals in ways that were only being seen from the likes of Whitney Houston in this part of the 1990s.

It would be nominated for a Grammy as well, losing to Sheryl Crow's "All I Wanna Do".
6. "When you want it the most, there's no easy way out."

Answer: That's the Way It Is

The last song from Celine's catalog to appear as a single in the 20th century, "That's the Way It Is" was an upbeat pop track to lead into the new millennium. Written for her greatest hits album "All the Way... A Decade of Song", the track would hit number six on the Billboard Hot 100 but take number one on the Adult Contemporary chart.

It would end up showing on nine different Billboard charts plus six year-end charts in 2000.
7. "And making love was just for fun."

Answer: All by Myself

One of many singles on Celine's "Falling Into You" album, "All by Myself" was another cover for the singer, this time from '70s musician Eric Carmen who arranged the song similarly and brought the same sort of bombast, delivering the overwhelming oomph that Dion would bring to the track. Celine would hit number four with it on the Billboard Hot 100 and number one on both the Canada Adult Contemporary and Billboard Adult Contemporary charts.
8. "Bittersweet and strange, finding you can change..."

Answer: Beauty and the Beast

Although the titular "Beauty and the Beast" song was sung by Angela Lansbury in the 1991 Disney film, the official version of the track was a duet between Dion and Grammy-winning soul singer Peabo Bryson, who would go on to sing the duet for "A Whole New World" in "Aladdin" as well.

At the time, Dion hadn't hit the level of international fame she would inevitably reach. The track would go on to elevate Dion's career, winning the Academy Award for Best Original Song and the Grammy for Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group With Vocals (and getting nominated for two others).

It hit number nine on the Billboard Hot 100.
9. "Lead us to a place, guide us with your grace..."

Answer: The Prayer

Written for the 1998 animated film "Quest for Camelot", "The Prayer" was a hit for both Celine Dion and her duet partner, Italian operatic tenor Andrea Bocelli. Both ended up featuring the track on respective albums; in Celine's case it was her first English Christmas release, "These Are Special Times", and in Bocelli's it was his fifth album, "Sogno". Nominated for an Oscar for Best Original Song, it ended up getting beaten out by another track for an animated film, specifically "When You Believe", written for "The Prince of Egypt" and performed by vocal powerhouses Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston.
10. "You were my strength when I was weak."

Answer: Because You Loved Me

The second single from Celine's 1996 album "Falling into You", "Because You Loved Me" was a massive hit bolstered by its appearance on the soundtrack for the film "Up Close & Personal". Nominated for four Grammy Awards (winning one) and the Academy Award for Best Original Song, the track topped four Billboard charts (including the Hot 100) and was the Canadian Adult Contemporary track of 1996.

It would be one of six singles from the album, and not even the most popular.
