Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Which of the following phrases is NOT sung in "Burning Down the House"?

Answer: "Where does that highway lead to?"

"Where does that highway lead to?" comes from "Once in a Lifetime", another big hit for the Talking Heads that was written by Byrne. "Burning Down the House" has been covered many times, by such diverse people as Weird Al Yankovic, Tom Jones, Bonnie Raitt, The Used and The Dave Matthews Band (while on tour).
2. In the song "Flowers," which stores are mentioned?

Answer: Dairy Queens and 7-Elevens

"I miss the honky-tonks, Dairy Queens and 7-Elevens!"

This Talking Heads song, about modern cities being retaken by wilderness, was featured in the opening credits of "Clerks 2". Pizza Hut is also mentioned in the lyrics.
3. Fill in the blank from "Twistin' in the Wind": "Now ________'s/ a funny little town/ the further you look into it, the further things stick out."

Answer: Washington, DC

This song from Byrne's solo album "Uh-oh" shares its name with a Joe Ely tune.
4. According to the a cappella intro to "Road to Nowhere," what do we know?

Answer: "where we're goin'" and "what we're knowin'"

"Well, we know where we're goin',
But we don't know where we've been,
And we know what we're knowin',
But we can't say what we've seen..."

This intro to the song, which is from the album "Little Creatures," was only added because Byrne thought the song was too simple otherwise.
5. In "Like Humans Do," which of the following is not something that humans do?

Answer: Takin'

"I'm achin', I'm shakin', I'm breakin' like/ humans do."

This song first appeared on Byrne's solo album "Look into the Eyeball." There is a radio edit which removes a single drug reference.
6. What song contains the lyric, "My sweet sixteen, I would never regret"?

Answer: Take Me to the River

These are all Talking Heads songs, though only "Take Me to the River" made it on to the live album "Stop Making Sense." Though often covered, this song was originally written and performed by Al Green.
7. Which song does not contain the word "Heaven"?

Answer: The Great Intoxication

"The Rose Tattoo": "Lost in the stars/ Venus and Mars/ and I'm in heaven again."
"Monkey Man": "Heaven help you now/ heaven help you now."
And "Heaven," of course, contains the word many times; it was just put in to trick you. It is the only Talking Heads song of these four.
8. In the song, "People Tree," which of the following questions does Byrne not sing?

Answer: "Why do we die?"

All four of these lines are from the 2008 song "People Tree," but there are four vocalists, including rapper Chali 2NA who asks most of the questions.
9. Which of the following songs contains no lyrics in English?

Answer: Desconocido Soy

Much of Byrne's solo work is influenced by Latin rhythms, exemplified in the album "Rei Momo." In his guest appearance on "The Simpsons", Byrne creates a Spanish remix of Homer's song, "Everybody Hates Ned Flanders."
10. These lines are from a song from "Everything that Happens Will Happen Today." Which song? "Saw the wandering eye/ inside my heart/ shouts and battle cries/ from every part."

Answer: One Fine Day

This album, for which Byrne worked with composer Brian Eno, was first released online in August of 2008. A deluxe CD was released with four extra tracks soon afterward, followed by the Japanese version with another bonus track.
