Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Which song starts with this line: "Adventure seeker on an empty street Just an alley creeper light on his feet"?

Answer: I Want It All

"I Want It All" was the first single off the last album offering from Queen of the 1980s. It reached number three in 1989.
2. The song in question starts with this line: "Are you gonna take me home tonight? Down beside that red firelight." Which one could it be?

Answer: Fat Bottomed Girls

Together with "Bicycle Race", "Fat Bottomed Girls" reached number 11 in the UK charts as a double A-side in October 1978. A typical riff-ridden song from the pen of Brian May.
3. This early Queen song starts off with a guitar riff and then this line: "I was told a million times of all the troubles in my way tried to grow a little wiser little better ev'ry day". Which song is it?

Answer: Keep Yourself Alive

When first released as a single in 1973 as a taster from the forthcoming debut album "Queen", it neither charted nor got much airplay from the BBC. But, since it has become a classic in its own right.
4. Which quaint little number begins this way: "I can dim the lights and sing you songs full of sad things, we can do the tango just for two I can serenade and gently play on your heartstrings..."?

Answer: Good Old Fashioned Loverboy

The other voice, besides Freddie Mercury on lead vocals during the "Hey boy, where'd you get it from"-part is handled by Queen's engineer Mike Stone.
This song can be found, among others, on the follow-up LP to "A Night At The Opera", "A Day At The Races" (1976) and also on "Queen's First EP" (1977).
5. This nostalgic song starts off with these words: "Sometimes I get to feelin' I was back in the old days - long ago, When we were kids when we were young thing seemed so perfect - you know." Which song is it?

Answer: These Are The Days Of Our Lives

This was the last video in which Freddie Mercury played an active part in and also appeared in. It is evident from looking at his frail body that he is seriously ill. In 1991 after Mercury's death it reached the top of the charts in the UK, coupled with a re-issue of "Bohemian Rhapsody".
6. If you answer this one correctly you can join in the chorus. Which anthem am I thinking of? It goes like this: "I've paid my dues, time after time, I've done my sentence, but committed no crime".

Answer: We Are The Champions

When Freddie Mercury played this new song for his fellow bandmates in the studio, they almost fell about laughing, thinking it was a bit over the top. But, as Queen proved yet again; this was a song only Queen could pull off without being considered full of it!
7. Which song is this the opening lines to: "I'm gonna take a little walk on the wild side I'm gonna loosen up and get me some gas I'm gonna get me some action Go crazy driving in the fast lane"?

Answer: Man On The Prowl

In the early 80s, Queen was approached with the prospect of making a soundtrack to the filming of John Irvings book "Hotel New Hampshire". Queen set to work at it, but soon abondoned the project, not thinking they had the right material for it. "Man On The Prowl" is a song made for that film, which made it on to "The Works" in 1984
8. I guess this one is maybe a little obscure, but it nevertheless starts off with the following vocal bits: "So you feel that you ain't nobody Always needed to be somebody Put your feet on the ground Put your hand on your heart Lift your head to the stars And the world's for your taking". Which song is it?

Answer: The Hero

I bet this one was a little tricky. Not a song that is too familiar, as it was one of only a few "proper" songs on the soundtrack album "Flash Gordon". Most of it being instrumentals and spoken dialogue. It was a regular opener for Queen's live shows of the early 1980s, as can be witnessed on the excellent "Queen On Fire - Live At The Bowl".
9. Which little nugget from the 80s begins with these words: "Another red letter day, so the pound has dropped and the children are creating. The other half ran away, taking all the cash and leaving you with the lumber."?

Answer: Friends Will Be Friends

A Freddie Mercury composition, this was the second single lifted from the "A Kind Of Magic" album for promotional purposes. "One Vision" which was released in 1985, wasn't designed to promote the album, although it ended up opening the album. It reached number 14 in June of 1986.
10. From the last album Queen released, which song do these lines open: "Why don't you take another little piece of my heart, why don't you take it and break it, and tear it all apart"?

Answer: Let Me Live

"Let Me Live" featured joint lead vocals from all three singing members of Queen. This probably meant that it was one of the songs Freddie didn't get to finish himself. It reached number nine in the UK charts when released in 1996.
