Keyboardist Derek Shernian played on the 1995 album "A Change Of Seasons" and the 1997 album "Falling Into Infinity". Besides his work with Dream Theater, Derek is known for contributing to bands such as "Planet X", Alice Cooper and "Kiss". He also has released a few solo albums.

Jordan Rudess actually joined the band to replace Moore, however he left to join Dixie Dregs before he cut any tracks with the band. He returned later to record 1999's "Scenes From A Memory", 2002's "Six Degrees Of Inner Turbulence" and 2003's "Train of Thought".

Besides "Dream Theater", Jordan appeared with Portnoy and Petruci on "Liquid Tension Experiment"'s albums and again with Petrucci for the "A Night Out With Jordan Rudess And John Petrucci" album. He also has done work with "Speedway Boulevard" and has a sucessful solo career.

However Collins was replaced by Charles Dominici before they recorded their demo.

The band was forced to change their name after learning another band owned the copyright. At the recomendation of Portnoy's father the name was changed to "Dream Theater", the name of a movie theater in California.

Under the name Majesty, the band's singer was Chris Collins, who was quickly replaced by Charlie Dominici. The band's name was then changed to Dream Theater and "When Dream And Day Unite" was recorded. However shortly after, due to a disagreement with the musical direction of the band, Dominici left.

He was replaced by James LaBrie, formerly of Winter Rose and Coney Hatch, right before signing a deal for a solo career.
