Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Which band member writes most of the songs?

Answer: Billie Joe Armstrong

This is BJ's full name. It is not short for William or whatever.
2. Were Billie Joe, Mike Dirnt and Tre Cool born in the same year?

Answer: Yes

They were all born in 1972.
3. Green Day was originally called Sweet Child.

Answer: False

They were originally called Sweet Children back when Tre Cool wasn't a member. They heard a remark by Ernie of Sesame Street and decided it represented them better than Sweet Children. Billie wrote a song of the same name. Al wrote it on the back of his leather jacket. Unanimously they agreed on the new name. It was unveiled on the cover of 1000 Hours, recorded as Sweet Children, but released as Green Day

Note - Sweet CHILD is WRONG, as the names are slightly different. There was a band called Sweet Child at the time, but it wasn't who we today know as Green Day. It was someone COMPLETELY different. Green Day were originally called Sweet ChildREN. Thanks :D
