Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. When played in reverse, what are the supposed lyrics revealed in "Stairway to Heaven"?

Answer: Here's to my sweet Satan

In April 1982, a committee of the California state assembly convened to listen to a Led Zeppelin record played backwards. Irate Baptist preachers had complained that when Led Zeppelin records were played that way, Satanic messages could be understood, via an obscure recording process called "backward masking". Sure enough when the committee listened to "Stairway to Heaven" in reverse some members said they could clearly hear the ominous, slurry, bone-chilling words: "Heres to my sweet Satan".
2. The Continental Hyatt House on Sunset Boulevard in LA was a Led Zeppelin mainstay during their prime days touring America. The insane antics perpetrated there by the band caused the locals to rename it what?

Answer: The Continental Riot House.

Some of the antics involved the throwing of empty champagne bottles out the windows trying to hit the big rock and roll billboards across the street.
3. When "Physical Graffiti" was released to America in 1975, mayhem ensued. How many albums did one New York store report selling by the hour.

Prior to this, Led Zeppelin had starved its American fans with two years of no tours, no television, no albums.
4. How many outtakes were released on "Physical Graffiti"?

Answer: 7

"Bron-Yr-Aur" and "Down by the Seaside" both date from the 1970 sessions for "Led Zeppelin III" "Boogie with Stu" and "Night Flight" were both from sessions that had produced the untitled fourth album. "The Rover", "Black Country Woman", and "Houses of The Holy" were from the sessions for the album of the same name, which was supposed to be its title track.
5. What brand of cymbals did John Bonham use?

Answer: Equinox

Jimmy had stocked the shop himself with various rare and antique books on magic and the occult that he picked up on buying trips to rare book dealers. The bookshop was named Equinox, after Aleister Crowley's own occult magazine.
10. What was the name of the house Jimmy Page purchased in 1970?

Answer: Boleskine

An eighteenth century U shaped house with a grim history, it had previously been the site of a church that had burned with its parishioners inside. A man had been beheaded there, according to local lore, and his head could occasionally be heard rolling around the halls at night.

When Aleister Crowley moved in at the turn of the century, he styled himself the "Laird of Boleskine," and began trying to summon demons. Subsequently, the house and terraces at Boleskine became awash with "shadwowy shapes"; and according to Crowley, the room became so dark while he was trying to copy magic symbols that he had to work by artificial light even though the sun was blazing outside.
