Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What song are these lyrics from? "The lamp gets dusty, the pipes get rusty."

Answer: Go

Lyrics: "For all the love we've made, just one thing stays the same. The lamp gets dusty, the pipes get rusty. But I don't wanna wash my hands clean."

"The Walk" was released in the US in the summer of 2007.
2. What song are these lyrics from? "Superstar, you sit up high on your hill."

Answer: Something Going 'Round

Lyrics: "Are you hungry? Won't you come get your fill. We could get this thing in motion if you'd stop acting tough. Superstar, you sit up high on your hill. I know why you're running. Only you know what you've lost."

"The Walk" is different from their other main studio albums in that it was recorded live, meaning they recorded the songs in basically one take instead of recording each part (vocals and instruments) separately. It makes you feel like you're at one of their shows, which is what they were going for!
3. What lyric comes next? "Well the man in black sits _______________________."

Answer: on a screened-in porch

Lyrics from "Been There Before": "Well the man in black sits on a screened-in porch, making birthday wishes, seventy-one almost. You can hear him singing 'Chariot Swing Low', on the block I live on, in the place I know."

While touring to promote this album and the issues it covers, they took a mile walk in every city they played in and fans were allowed to participate. They did this to help raise awareness and funds to send shoes to children in many African countries.
4. What song are these lyrics from? "But can we see the bottom of the bottle when we start to drink?"

Answer: Fire On The Mountain

Lyrics: "We build our ivory towers to protect us from the flood, a fleet of vessels made of wood so they won't rust. But can we see the bottom of the bottle when we start to drink? There's fire on the mountain, fire and it's coming our way."

The band posted podcasts of them "Taking The Walk" on their website. It was an ongoing documentary showing them first making the album and then walking in numerous cities with their fans. It ended up being 46 episodes!
5. What lyric comes next? "Everyone waits on a walk. ____________________ ..."

Answer: Some are long and some small

Lyrics from "The Walk": "Everyone waits on a walk. Some are long and some small, but all of them tall. And everyone must make a choice. Will I go for it all and possibly fall? The tightrope is thin. I could possibly win on the walk."

While this track is the title of the album, it was not released as a single.
6. What song are these lyrics from? "They say blood is thicker than oceans."

Answer: Great Divide

Lyrics: "When every eye is on the fortune, it can only breed contempt. They say blood is thicker than oceans. Still we box our brothers in."

Only two singles were released: "Great Divide" (which was released digitally in the US and the UK) and "Go" (which was released only in the UK).
7. What song are these lyrics from? "I'm not that other guy. I'm feeling so sad."

Answer: Running Man

Lyrics: "Life isn't what it seems or something in a dream. That's not quite what I mean. I need to say goodbye. You think I didn't try. I'm not that other guy. I'm feeling so sad."

This album as a whole is very heavy (as mentioned by the boys and critics alike), but if you listen closely in the beginning of this song, you can hear the boys' joking about how this one is "the party track".
8. What lyric comes next? "I'm blind with eyes wide open. _______________________."

Answer: My body's tired and broken

Lyrics from "Blue Sky": "I'm blind with eyes wide open. My body's tired and broken. I want a taste of something that doesn't leave me dry. This hope for answered questions as rare as true conviction. I stare into the distance, there is no truth in sight."

In North America, "The Walk" was released with three additional live acoustic songs including, "Got a Hold on Me", "I've Been Down", and "Something Going 'Round".
9. What song are these lyrics from? "I'm not a wise man, but I see the haze."

Answer: Tearing It Down

Lyrics: "I'm not a wise man, but I see the haze. And this is what I'm gonna do. Tearing it down, tearing it down. Woo, woo. Tearing it down, tearing it down. Woo, woo."

The boys went to several African countries to record children's choirs, which were then added to "Great Divide" and "Been There Before".
10. What song are these lyrics from? "Welcome to the roller coaster ride."

Answer: Georgia

Lyrics: "Georgia, I'll be chasing you the rest of my life. Georgia, welcome to the roller coaster ride. When I come to you, I know that you'll help me get through. I'll be there for you. We both know we could never choose."

The intro to the album is also a recording of children saying "Ngi Ne Themba", which means "I have hope".
