This was a song written by the team of Jeff Barry and Ellie Greenwich, along with Phil Spector. It peaked for the Ronettes at number 24 on the U. S. Billboard charts in 1964. It was one of Spector's "Wall Of Sound" type recordings, and featured Leon Russell on piano, as well as background vocals by Cher and Darlene Love. Kim's version was a number five hit in 1969, and helped earn him a Juno Award that year, in his native Canada, as Top Male Vocalist.
