"Singing The Blues" written by Melvin Endsley was number one for 10 weeks on the Billboard Top 100 for Guy Mitchell in 1956. It was number one for three weeks on the UK singles chart in 1957.

On The Drifters version Charlie Thomas sang lead and Cissy Houston, Doris Troy, Dee Dee Warwick and Dionne Warwick sang backing vocals.

With "Sweets For My Sweet", The Searchers became the third Liverpool group to top the UK singles chart. They followed Gerry and The Pacemakers with "How Do You Do It" and The Beatles with "From Me To You". John Lennon called "Sweets For My Sweet" the best disc ever from a Liverpool Group. I wonder how long he thought that.

"The Shoop Shoop Song (It's In His Kiss)" was number one for five weeks on the UK singles chart for Cher in 1991. It peaked at number 33 on the Billboard Hot 100 the same year.

British actors Robson Green and Jerome Flynn became the first act to debut at number one on the UK singles chart with their first three singles. They were also the first act to reach number one on the UK singles chart with a triple A- Side single, "What Becomes Of The Brokenhearted", "Saturday Night At The Movies" and "You'll Never Walk Alone".

The writer of the song, singer Joni Mitchell was advised by her manager to appear on The Dick Cavett Show instead of appearing at the Woodstock festival. She wrote the song in her hotel room in New York City while watching televised reports of the festival.
