Félix Leclerc is, arguably, the most influential of Quebecer singers-songwriters. His songs include "Le petit bonheur" (cited above), "Bozo", "Moi, mes souliers" and "Le train du nord". Most Quebecers know the lyrics to many of Leclerc's songs.
Although Gilles Vignault was born in 1928, he only started to record songs in 1958 and became known during the early 1960's.
Claude Léveillé also knew fame during the 1960's, with songs such as "Boulevard du crime" and "Frédéric".
Robert Charlebois was very young in the 1950's, being born in 1944. His bigger successes came during the late 1960's.

Johnny Farago was a huge fan of Elvis Presley. On top of starting his carrer singing the King's songs in bars, Farago also recorded many French versions of Elvis' hits including "À t'aimer" (Loving You) andt "T'ai-je dit" (Have I Told You Lately That I Love You).

Les Colocs gained almost instant fame in Québec with their surprising mix of rock, folk, funk and swing.
