Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. From which Lacuna Coil song are these lyrics? "What a day / Seconds, minutes and hours spill over / There's no time here in space."

Answer: Trip The Darkness

"Trip The Darkness" was the first song released from the album, being played first on American radio Sirius XM in September 2011 before its release the next month. The cover of the single shows a little girl, and was designed by the band's bassist, Marco Coti Zelati. A remix of the song can be found on the soundtrack for the movie "Underworld: Awakening".
2. "'Cause I belong to you / 'Cause I am part of you / I am dying in your arms." These Lacuna Coil lyrics are from the song "I Don't Believe In Tomorrow".

Answer: False

These lyrics are actually from "End Of Time".

"Dark Adrenaline" charted in five of the United States Billboard charts, debuting at fifteen in the Billboard 200 and reaching two in the Alternative and Hard Rock Albums charts. In Europe, its highest position was four in the UK Rock Chart; it reached eighteen in the band's native Italy.
3. From which Lacuna Coil track do these lyrics come? "So many times I wished I could've walked away / Spread my wings into the sky / Let myself go."

Answer: Soul Inmate

"Soul Inmate" was featured as a bonus track on the iTunes edition of the album, which also included live performances of songs from previous albums and the music video for "Trip The Darkness". There were various other editions of the album, including the Darkest Adrenaline Super Deluxe Box Set Edition, which was limited to 500 copies; a hardcover photo book, a guitar pick, and a vinyl were among its contents.
4. "Forget the pain and all the games we play / Forget the worry and the shame." These are the opening lines to which Lacuna Coil song?

Answer: My Spirit

"My Spirit" is the only song on the album that features lyrics in Italian; there is a segment in the middle spoken by vocalist Andrea Ferro, which comprises lines from the rest of the song, most notably the refrain, translated into Italian. As written in the CD booklet, this song was dedicated to Peter Steele, singer and bassist of band Type O Negative, who was a friend of the band and died of heart failure in 2010.
5. What is the next line of this Lacuna Coil song? "I want to say it now / 'Cause I don't believe in tomorrow / The storm is raging now / 'Cause..."

Answer: I lost my faith in you

These lines come from "I Don't Believe In Tomorrow".

Some editions of the album included the DVD "Dark Passengers", which featured six short films of the band members along with songs from the album. The members were seen as vocalist Cristina's visions after the band had been injected by a drug sharing the title of the album, "Dark Adrenaline".
6. What is the missing word of this Lacuna Coil lyric? "In the world that I created, I'm ______."

Answer: Intoxicated

As with the previous album "Shallow Life" (2009), "Dark Adrenaline" was produced by Don Gilmore, who has worked with bands such as Linkin Park. He also co-wrote the tracks. "Shallow Life" had a more mainstream rock sound, but "Dark Adrenaline" was more of a return to the band's Gothic sound. Reviews have been generally favorable, with Metacritic giving 75/100, Allmusic giving 4/5, and Lsmedia giving 5/5.
7. Which song, covered by Lacuna Coil, contains these lyrics? "I thought that I heard you laughing / I thought that I heard you sing / I think I thought I saw you try."

Answer: Losing My Religion

"Losing My Religion" was originally performed by R.E.M. on their album "Out Of Time" (1991). It was a risky feat, but I think they pulled it off! Critical reception to the cover was mixed, with Lsmedia calling it "outstanding" while Rockstar Weekly called it the weakest song on the album. The original is a favorite of mine, and I think they did it justice.

"Enjoy The Silence" by Depeche Mode was covered by Lacuna Coil on their album "Karmacode" (2006).
8. Which Lacuna Coil song contains these lyrics? "You started this fight / Face me down / My adrenaline rush is slowing down."

Answer: Fire

"Fire" was released in June 2012 as the second single from the album. Its music video was filmed in a location seen in 2006 movie "The Departed", The Red Hook Grain Terminal in Brooklyn, and was directed by Brendan Kyle Cochrane. The digital download included the track "Dark Adrenaline", which was released on the Japanese edition of the album.
9. What is the next line of this Lacuna Coil song? "When I'm lost and don't know what to do / You run away from me / But you'll never..."

Answer: Kill the light inside me

This line is perhaps unsurprisingly from "Kill The Light". Metalholic called this track "one of the album's real standout tracks" - certainly it is one of my favorites!

The other options are made up, but clearly based on other tracks on the album: "Trip The Darkness", "The Army Inside", and the line "Laughing at my disaster" from "Upsidedown".
10. "I can feel the distance / Even if you're closing in / I cannot hide the scars / I still relive them every second." These lyrics are found in which Lacuna Coil song?

Answer: The Army Inside

Following a short North American tour for the album "Dark Adrenaline", Lacuna Coil embarked upon a massive tour called the Dark Legacy tour to celebrate fifteen years of the band. The setlist included songs from all albums, so there was something both old and new fans could enjoy. I had the honor of meeting the band at one of their Dark Legacy shows, and it was a fantastic experience! In the middle of the show, they played an acoustic set of several songs, which was unexpected but a great show, as always.

The band were very polite and happy to take pictures!
