Will Young won the first ever "Pop Idols", held in the UK. The runner up was Gareth Gates. Will has released a CD called "Friday's Child".

Answer: "Sexual Healing" - Marvin Gaye

On April 1, 1984, in his parents Los Angeles home, Marvin physically attacked his father for verbally abusing his mother. Gay Sr. responded by shooting his son to death - using a gun that Marvin himself had given him four months earlier. What a loss to the world of music! Some of my favourite songs of Marvin's include "Heard It Through The Grapevine", and "You Are Everything" with Diana Ross.

Answer: "Careless Whisper" - Wham

I actually always thought that this was a song by George Michael (as a solo artist), but it's credited on Wham's final album/CD, as "George Michael, featuring Wham". This is my all time favourite song.

Ashanti Douglas was born in 1980 in Glen Cove, Long Island, New York into a musical family. This is my favourite song of hers.

Answer: "Stars" - Simply Red

Most people know that the lead singer and songwriter of Simply Red is Mick Hucknall. There are at least 10 other members of this exceptional group (including 2 back up singers).

Answer: "Something Beautiful" - Robbie Williams

Robbie Williams was a member of a boy band called "Take That". When the group split up, Robbie initially spent his time partying. He eventually embarked on a very successful solo career. "Escapology" was his fifth CD.
8. This group is widely regarded as one of the greatest rock groups. This song was released in 1975, and re-released in 1991. "I don't wanna die I sometimes wish I'd never been born at all."

Answer: "Bohemian Rhapsody" - Queen

Starting in the early seventies and throughout the eighties, Freddie Mercury, Brian May, Roger Taylor and John Deacon have written hit after hit. Queen has over 51 hit songs to their credit. Sadly, Freddie Mercury died in 1991 of complications due to AIDS. Queen, in my opinion, is the greatest rock group ever.

Some of their other hits are "We Will Rock You" and "Another One Bites The Dust".

Answer: "Stan" - Eminem

Eminem, (Marshall Mathers) has invoked the wrath of women and homosexuals with his offensive lyrics; become enemies with Moby, Everlast, Fred Durst, and Christina Aguilera; provided tabloids with plenty of gossip fodder regarding his personal life. I still like him!

Answer: "Homely Girl" - UB40

UB40, Britain's #1 reggae band, formed over 20 years ago, consists of 8 band members who all come from the city of Birmingham, England. Influenced by reggae music, which was very much the music of the day in their environment, UB40 started out on their long career together, not only as musicians, but as friends.
