Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. 'Witness the man who waves at the wall'

Answer: Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun

From the LP 'A Saucerful of Secrets'. Witness the man who waves at the {wall;} Making the shape of his questions to {heaven;} Whether the sun will fall in the {evening;} Will he remember the lesson of giving?
2. 'S'il vous plait, ou est le bar?'

Answer: Not Now John

From 'The Final Cut' LP of course: 'S'cusi dove il {bar';} 'Se para collo pou eine toe {bar';} 'S'il vous plait ou est le {bar';} '(...say it in {English!...)';}
3. 'Lying on an eiderdown'

Answer: Flaming

'Echoes' has a similar lyric, but this is 'Flaming' from Pink Floyd's first offering 'Piper at the Gates of Dawn': Alone in the clouds all {blue;} Lying on an {eiderdown;} Yippee!
4. 'Red the light and dark the night'

Answer: Embryo

This was an early single... I think it later appeared on 'Relics' or 'Works' or some such collection of singles. If I remember the story correctly Mr. Waters was rather unhappy that it was released prior to its full completion. All {around;} I hear strange sounds Come gurgling in my {ear;} Red the {light;} And dark the {night;} I feel my dawn is near
5. 'Never shall it ye get me alive ye rotten hound of the burnie crew'

Answer: Several Species of Small Furry Animals Gathered Together in a Cave and Grooving with a Pict

From the 'Pict's' ramblings at the end of the song (off the LP 'Ummagumma'). Put in context, it makes a tad more sense (just a tad): 'Never he cried, never shall it ye get me alive ye rotten hound of the burnie crew. Well I snatched fer the blade. O my Claymore cut and thrust and I fell doon before him round his feet.'
6. 'Between the blue you once knew'

Answer: Astronomy Domine

Another selection from 'Piper At The Gates Of Dawn' (and the live portion of 'Ummagumma'): Lime and limpid green, a second {scene;} A fight between the blue you once knew
7. 'All in all it was just a brick in the wall' (studio album)

Answer: Another Brick in the Wall Part I

Okay, chill out. Only one Floyd song had this particular lyric, and it was 'Another Brick In The Wall Part I'. In Part II, 'it's just another brick in the wall' and 'you're just another brick in the wall'. In Part III, 'it was all just bricks in the wall' and 'you were all just bricks in the wall'. OKAY, ALREADY?!
8. 'He hates it'

Answer: Arnold Layne

He hates being in prison, that is. I think this one is on both 'Relics' and 'Works', and it is of course the Floyd's first single about a real-life guy who stole bras and panties from clothes lines.
9. 'When we was working from nine to five'

Answer: Biding My Time

Another one that was only a single until it made it to a compilation. I think it appeared on 'Relics'.
10. 'The music was too loud'

Answer: Summer '68

From 'Atom Heart Mother'.
11. 'He hath great power and great hunger'

Answer: Sheep

Off the 'Animals' LP, this is from the spooky spoken 'The Lord is my shepherd' bit in the middle of the song.
12. 'Share it fairly'

Answer: Money

From 'Dark Side Of The Moon' of course! 'Share it fairly but don't take a slice of MY pie'
13. 'You miner for truth and delusion' (Remastered CD version)

Answer: Shine On You Crazy Diamond Part II

From the CD 'Wish You Were Here'. The original LP version boasted seven plus parts, but the CD breaks it down to two... Come on you boy {child;} You winner and {loser;} Come on you miner for truth and {delusion;} And shine
14. 'You are the angel of death'

Answer: Free Four

Off the LP 'Obscured by Clouds' -- And You are the angel of {death;} And I am the dead man's {son;} He was buried like a mole in a fox {hole;} And everyone's still on the run
15. 'Your eyes are like {stars;} Your teeth are like pearls'

Answer: A Spanish Piece

From the LP 'More'.
