I must admit the song is quite catchy. It has been used at football and baseball games, and was featured in at least six movies and numerous television shows. However, not everyone is a fan. In 2007, "Rolling Stone Magazine" ranked it third in its list of the most annoying songs, and in 2008 "Spinner" rated it the worst song ever.

I must say it is fun to say "badonkadonk."

Fans and critics have been confused over the lyric, thinking The Killers may have been singing dancers, or denser (which would at least be grammatically correct.)
The band's website confirms the word is actually dancer. Apparently, the band is irritated by the objections to the ungrammatical lyric.

This song evoked strong, though schizophrenic, reactions. It ranked number 49 on "The 50 Worst Songs Ever! Watch, Listen and Cringe!" by Blender. It ranked number 80 on the VH1's "100 Greatest Songs of the 90s." It was number two on VH1's "40 Greatest One-Hit Wonders of the 90s." In 2010 AOL Radio ranked it number eight in its list "100 Worst Songs Ever." Maybe it was just too sexy for these lists!
