Answer: Crazy Little Thing Called Love

The single, "Crazy Little Thing Called Love", was the first U.S. number one hit for the English rock band Queen. Freddie Mercury wrote the song for his band and it was released in 1979 from their album, "The Game". It reached number two on the charts in the U.K. "Man on the Prowl" (1984), "Ride the Wild Wind" (1991) and "Under Pressure" (1981) were songs from Queen as well.

The American group Kool & the Gang were originated in 1964 by brothers Robert and Ronald Bell. Their only number one song was "Celebration", but they have sold more than seventy million albums nationwide. Other minor hits were "Jungle Boogie" (1973) and "Get Down on It" (1980).

Organized in Chicago, Illinois in 1978, the American rock band Survivor is probably renowned for their greatest achievement with the theme song for "Rocky III" (1982), "Eye of the Tiger". It went to number one in the U.S. and stayed there for six weeks.

The song was nearly as popular as the movie. Survivor won a Grammy Award for the mega-hit tune, and it was voted Best New Song by the People's Choice Awards.

Bob Seger and his Silver Bullet Band were hot on the charts all through the 80s. Although it never peaked at number one in 1982, it was on Billboard's Hot 100 Pop Singles chart for four weeks at number two. The song was taken from the album "The Distance", and was written by country singer/songwriter Rodney Crowell. Joining Seger on backup of the song was Glenn Frey of the famous group The Eagles.

For years, Ike seemed to hold her back as to not let her true, musical ability shine. Her phenomenal talent flourished when she did go solo, and so did her success.

The song, off the "Private Dancer album" (1984), topped number one in the U.S. and Australia, while it reached number three in the U.K.

From their 1987 album, "Slippery When Wet", the song shot up the charts in the U.S. at number one and stayed for four weeks. It hit number four on the UK singles chart. In 2008, a cover version was used for "Alvin and the Chipmunks: Undeniable" album.

Answer: Simply Irresistible

Born in Batley, Yorkshire, Robert Palmer recorded "Simply Irresistible" on his album "Heavy Nova" in 1988. It is one of Palmer's most recognized songs, partly because of his music video. In 1989, Pepsi Beverage Company used it to advertise their soda in a commercial, which featured Palmer.

The late pop-recording sensation, Michael Jackson, wrote and composed "Billie Jean". Quincy Jones produced it for his album "Thriller" (1982), but was not satisfied with it. After an abundant of disagreements between the two, Michael finally won, and it became the best-selling single in 1983. It was with this song that he introduced his famous "Moonwalk" dance step that became the craze nationwide. Jackson's song was used in a popular commercial for Pepsi Beverage Company. It is also credited with being on "The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's 500 Songs that Shaped Rock and Roll".

Answer: Bad to the Bone

This bluesy-rock song was used in 2008 for a commercial for Wrangler Jeans. The commercial featured famous sports names such as quarterback Brett Favre and NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt Jr. Although "Bad to the Bone" did not become a major hit on the musical chart, its licensing for films, television, and commercial advertising became hugely successful, making it one of the most recognized song of the 80s era. George Thorogood and the Destroyers released the song in 1982.

Answer: I'm So Excited

The harmonious sisters, Anita, June, and Ruth Pointer, took the song "I'm So Excited" to number nine after they re-released it in 1984, two years after its original release. The song was written by the three sisters and Trevor Lawrence and was recorded on RCA Records.

The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) ranked it 264 out of 365 songs listed and chose it as one of the "Songs of the Century".
