Answer: Brent Smith

Smith was with a band called Dreve before Shinedown, but when the record label dropped the band prior to them recording an album, they kept Smith as they felt he was an artist worth investing in. Seems like they were right.

Answer: The Expendables

The track was written especially for the 2010 movie which was written and directed by Stallone as well as starring him alongside Jason Statham, Bruce Willis, Jet Li and Mickey Rourke. Although the song was requested by Stallone himself, it wasn't actually used in the theatrical version of the movie, appearing only in the director's cut.

Answer: 2009

2009 was the band's first appearance, when they played on the second stage on the Sunday, being fifth on the bill. They appeared again in 2012, again on Sunday's second stage as fourth on the bill. In 2016, they appeared fourth on the bill on the main stage (renamed the Lemmy stage) on Sunday and in 2018, once again on Sunday, they were on the main stage, behind Marilyn Manson and headliner Ozzy Osbourne.

Answer: Simple Man

"Simple Man" was originally recorded in 1973 by Lynyrd Skynyrd on their debut album and Shinedown introduced it to a new generation of rock fans when they covered it. The Shinedown version reached number five in the Billboard Mainstream Rock charts in USA.

Answer: The Sound Of Madness

After the original bass player left the band in 2007, guitarist Zach Myers took over duties briefly before Bass joined. Although bass player for Jane's Addiction, Chris Chaney, helped out on the 2008 album, prior to Bass being recruited, Bass contributed enough to get a credit on the album and become a fully fledged member of the band.

The track, "Enemies" from the same album was used by WWE Raw as their theme song in 2016 and the WWE connection goes back to 2005 when the tracks "Save Me" and "I Dare You", from the "Us And Them" album were used for the No Mercy 2005 and WrestleMania 22 events respectively.

Bass produced lead single, "Cut The Cord" on "Threat To Survival" and jumped at the chance to produce a whole album in 2018. In between the two, he honed his craft by producing albums by bands such as Sleeper Agent, Eve To Adam, Royal Teeth and Framing Hanley.

Answer: Iron Maiden

The Raven Age started off as support for Iron Maiden in Europe, through Italy, Spain and Croatia for their 2016 gigs and Shinedown took over the role in 2017, playing a total of 19 dates through Belgium, Germany and UK. When the tour moved across to USA, Ghost took over the support slot.

Lzzy Hale is the vocalist from the Grammy winning band, Halestorm, best known for tracks such as "Freak Like Me" (2013), "Apocalyptic" (2015) and "Uncomfortable" (2018). Shinedown's Brent Smith returned the favour in 2012 when he appeared on the guest version of the Halestorm track "Here's To Us", along with Slash, Wolfgang Van Halen from Van Halen, Myles Kennedy from Alter Bridge, James Michael of Sixx A.M., Tyler Connolly from Theory Of A Deadman, David Draiman of Disturbed, and Maria Brink from In This Moment.

Answer: Somewhere In The Stratosphere

The lyric from which the title came is "I just saw Haley's comet, shooting,
She waved, said, "Why are you always running in place", Even the man in the moon disappeared, Somewhere in the stratosphere." The track reached the top spot in the Billboard Mainstream Rock chart and number seven in the Billboard Hot 100. The DVD/CD set featured an electric show from Washington State and an acoustic gig from Kansas City.
