In the film, 72 year old Cher played the part of Ruby, mother to Donna, played by 70 year old Meryl Streep, which hardly seems like great casting, but it worked.
Garcia played hotel manager Fernando, an old lover of Ruby's who wishes to rekindle the relationship.
The record wasn't a great success for Cher and Garcia, just scraping into the top 100 in UK charts, but the album it is taken from hit number one in UK album charts as well as the album charts of many other countries.

Georgia Holt is Cher's mother, and her album was recorded in 1982, when she was 56 years old, but not released until 2013, by which time she was 87.
As an actress in the 1950s, she had minor roles on shows such as "The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet" (1955) and "I Love Lucy" (1956).

"Dead Ringer For Love" was the second single of four released from Meat Loaf's "Dead Ringer" (1981) album and the only one to have any real chart success.
On it's release, website Allmusic, described the song as both "one of the more inspired rock duets of the 1980's" and feeling like " a long-lost outtake from the Grease soundtrack on steroids".

Cher's section is very brief, but the amount of talent Simmons convinced to perform on his album illustrates just how big Kiss were, with contributions from Joe Perry, Helen Reddy, Janis Ian, Donna Summer, Skunk Baxter and Rick Nielsen as well as those of Seger and Cher.

Gregg was the driving force behind The Allman Brothers Band and the songwriter behind tracks such as "Whipping Post" (1969), Melissa (1972) and "Ain't Wastin' Time No More" (1972), which was about the death of his brother Duane the previous year.
The album in question, titled "Two The Hard Way" was credited to Allman and Woman and has never been released on CD as Cher owns the master tapes and refuses to allow this to happen.
Allman and Cher were married from 1975 to 1979 and produced the singer and guitarist Elijah Blue Allman, born in 1976.

"Love Can Build A Bridge" was originally recorded by country artists, The Judds in 1990 and had been a hit on both the American and Canadian country charts.
The Cher, Hynde, Cherry and Clapton cover was the charity single for the annual Comic Relief appeal, and spent a week as the UK number one.
