Once she graduated from school, she took a job as a nurse-aide at the Barnes-Jewish Hospital.

Tina Turner was nominated for both a Golden Globe and a Grammy Award for "We Don't Need Another Hero".
3. Tina Turner wrote a semi-autobiographical song. What was the name of this song?

Ike Turner gave Tina the name of "Little Ann" when she was first asked to perform with his band "Kings of Rythym". He later changed her name to Tina Turner after watching "Sheena, Queen of the Jungle" after which he said she was his "Wild Woman".
5. What is the name of Tina's autobiography?

Answer: I, Tina

"I, Tina" is a fascinating story about her impoverished childhood, her abusive marriage and her subsequent rise to fame. Co-authored by Kurt Loder, American film critic, author and previous editor of "Rolling Stone", it is a highly recommended read about this brave and wonderful lady.
6. What is Tina Turner's long-standing religious affiliation?

Answer: Buddhism

Strangely enough it was Ike Turner who introduced Tina to Valerie Bishop, a Buddhist, in 1974. Tina had attempted suicide due to her unhappy marriage to her violent and abusive husband, Ike. After talking to Valerie, Tina realised "that nobody but you yourself is in control of your fate" and converted to Buddhism.

"What's Love Got To Do With It" was released in 1993 and starred Angela Bassett as Anna Mae Bullock/Tina Turner and Laurence Fishburne as Ike Turner.
8. How many biological children did Tina Turner have?

Answer: Two

Tina gave birth to two sons, Craig in 1958 and Ronald in 1960. Craig was the child of Raymond Hill, the saxophone player in Ike Turner's band and Ronald was Ike's child.
9. What was the album called that Tina Turner played a part in and which was released in 2011?

Answer: Children Beyond

Tina Turner, Regula Curti and Dechen Shak-Dagsay are joined by a choir of thirty children for "Children Beyond". The album contains a range of chants, prayers and songs from different religions including Christian, Judaism, Hinduism, Islam and Sikhism.
10. What part was Tina Turner earmarked for in the movie "The Goddess"?

Answer: Goddess Shakti

Tina Turner was earmarked to play the part of "Goddess Shakti" and undertook a tour during 2004 to India for meetings with Indian singers and dancers and to learn about the culture. Unfortunately the film's producer, Ismail Merchant passed away and the movie was shelved.

During 2010 there was talk about it being revived but whether Tina gets to play the "Goddess Shakti" remains to be seen as there was controversy from Hindu religious groups who opposed the casting of her, citing and I quote, "the casting of a woman who appears half-naked often", calling it "offensive, and an insult to Hindus all over the world".
