Answer: Don't You

The song "Don't You" is also called "Don't You Forget About Me". It was written by Keith Forsey and Steve Schiff. Several artists were asked to record the song but declined. When Simple Minds finally agreed to make a recording, it was accomplished in three hours. It became one of the bands most famous songs.
2. In 1975, Paul Simon came up with a very unique solution to having to say "So Long, Farewell". Actually, Paul came up with more than one. What song gives the listener quite a selection of ways to say it's over?

Answer: 50 Ways To Leave Your Lover

This song is novel way a mistress is giving advise to a husband about ways to call a halt to a relationship. 1976 was the year the song was number one, for three weeks, on the United States Billboard of the hottest 100 songs. It has continued to be the biggest solo hit for Paul. Jim Henson's "Muppets" created a rather interesting recording of Paul's song. All songs mentioned are written by Paul either under the name Paul Simon or Paul Kane. Due to a fondness for the movie "Citizen Kane", Paul used the pseudonym of Paul Kane for the song "The Side of a Hill" (among others).
3. The next artist has several names. One is Reginald Kenneth Dwight. Another is Elton Hercules John. What song is about a young man watching his brother's plane flying to Spain?

Answer: Daniel

Sir Elton's early start in music was at the age of 3 when he learned to play the piano. Daniel's lyrics, as well as several other songs, were written by Bernie Taupin but the music is pure Sir Elton. The song is about a young veteran who returns from Vietnam.

In spite of the fact he is lauded as a hero, "Daniel" only wants his original life. In 1998, Elton John was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II and is now Sir Elton John.

Answer: Leaving on a Jet Plane

"Leaving on a Jet Plane" was Peter, Paul and Mary's biggest hit. It was also their final one. John Denver wrote the song while at Washington Airport during a layover. It's original title was "Oh Babe, I Hate To Go". John Denver was killed in a plane accident in 1997.

He was piloting his experimental plane and crashed into the Pacific Ocean. Roy Romer, Colorado governor at that time, honored John by ordering all state flags to be lowered to half staff.
5. While I don't appreciate many musicals, this is one I truly enjoy. Created by Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II, this musical is based on a real family. I doubt you will have much difficulty guessing the title to the song I'm thinking about. Well, what's the answer?

Maria von Trappe wrote a memoir entitled "The Story of the Trapp Family Singers". A book based upon this memoir, written by Russel Crouse and Howard Lindsay, became a Broadway production in 1959. In addition to the numerous revivals, and productions, a movie was made 1965. Maria von Trappe was not happy with how the movie conveyed her husband to be a stern and cold man. The children also dispute this portrayal. It was the last musical created by Rodgers and Hammerstein. Sadly, within nine months of the premier on Broadway, Hammerstein died of cancer.
6. Eric Clapton and Will Jennings wrote this deeply painful song. Initially, Will didn't feel he should be involved in something so personal. Yet, after Eric explained why he wanted Will to help, a beautiful song came forth. What is the name of this amazing song?

Answer: Tears In Heaven

"Tears in Heaven" is about the accidental death of Eric's son, Conor. Eric arrived shortly after Conor fell from a window on the 53rd floor of an apartment in New York. His love for music didn't make his life an easy one. When Billy became a teenager, he took up boxing in order to defend himself. He won 22 bouts on the amateur Golden Gloves circuit.
