Lonestar was comprised of Michael Britt, Keech Rainwater, Richie McDonald, and Dean Sams. From 1999-2004 it had nine top 40 numbers on Billboard's Hot 100. Only one made the top ten, "Amazed" in 1999. Also getting to number one were: "I'm Sorry" by Brenda Lee in 1960, "Lady Marmalade" by Patti LaBelle in 1975, and "On My Own" by Patti LaBelle and Michael McDonald in 1986.
2. The group: The Lovin' Spoonful. The melody ?

Answer: Summer In The City

Steve Boone, John Sebastian, Joe Butler, and Zalman Yanovsky (replaced by Jerry Yester in 1967) were The Lovin' Spoonful. The group had ten top 40 hits in the Hot 100 between 1965 and 1967, seven of which made the top ten. They had one chart topper, "Summer in The City" in 1966.

The group disbanded in 1968. Jim Lowe's "The Green Door" was number one on the Top 100 in 1956. Lisa Loeb & Nine Stories did "Stay (I Missed You So)" in 1994, and in 2007 Avril Lavigne sang "Girlfriend": both made number one on the Hot 100.

In 1973, "The Night The Lights Went Out In Georgia" was a rare one-hit wonder (her only song to reach the top 40 of Billboard's Hot 100) that also topped the chart at number one. "He's Got The Whole World In His Hands" made number one for Laurie London on Billboard's Jockey list in 1958.
