Between 1983 and 2008, Madonna (born Madonna Louise Ciccone) had 49 top 40 numbers on Billboard's Hot 100. Of those, 37 made the top ten. Of the 37, 22 reached the top three, including 12 at number one. "Vogue" topped the chart in 1990. Madonna has also appeared in several movies, including "Evita," "A League Of Their Own," and "Desperately Seeking Susan".

In 1963, Little Peggy March did "I Will Follow Him". Mary MacGregor sang "Torn Between Two Lovers" in 1976. "Toy Soldiers" was performed by Martika in 1989.
2. The group: The McCoys. The tune?

Answer: Hang On Sloopy

The McCoys (Randy Hobbs, Ronnie Brandon, and the brothers Rick and Randy Zehringer) had three top 40 tunes on the Hot 100 from 1965-1966. Two of those made the top ten, both in 1965: "Hang On Sloopy" (number one) and "Fever" (number seven). Anne Murray sang "You Needed Me" in 1978. "Don't Worry Be Happy" was a one-hit wonder number one tune for Bobby McFerrin in 1988. Mims did "This Is Why I'm Hot" in 2007.

From Australia, the quintet Men At Work (Greg Ham, Colin Hay, John Rees, Ron Strykert, and Jerry Speiser) placed five tunes in the top 40 of the Hot 100 from 1982-1983. Four of those made the top six: "Down Under" and "Who Can It Be Now" at number one in 1982; and "Overkill" (number three) and "It's A Mistake" (number six), both in 1983.

The group performed both as The Miracles (1960-1966 and 1974-1975) and as Smokey Robinson & The Miracles (1967-1973). Between 1960 and 1975, they had 29 top 40 songs on the Hot 100, seven of which reached the top ten. Two of those claimed the number one spot: "Tears Of A Clown" in 1970 and "Love Machine (Part I)" in 1975. Also getting to number one were: Paul Mauriat's "Love Is Blue" in 1968; George Michael's "One More Try" in 1988; and "Black Velvet" by Alannah Myles in 1990.

Rob Thomas, Paul Doucette, Bryan Yale, Kyle Cook, and Adam Gaynor comprised the quintet Matchbox Twenty. From 1997-2007 the group had ten numbers on the top 40 of the Hot 100, six in the top ten. Their only chart-topper, however, was "Bent" in 2000. "Monday, Monday" was by The Mamas And The Papas in 1966. A member of Frank Sinatra's "Rat Pack," he had two television shows of his own: "The Dean Martin Variety Show" (1959-1960) and "The Dean Martin Show" (1965-1974). From 1955-1967 he placed 17 tunes in the top 40 of Billboard's Top/Hot 100, including five in the top 10.

He had two number one hits: "Memories Are Made Of This" on the Top 100 in 1955, and "Everybody Loves Somebody" (his theme on "The Dean Martin Show") on the Hot 100 in 1964. The Monkees did "I'm A Believer" in 1966. Melanie sang "Brand New Key" in 1971. And Mario performed "Let Me Love You" in 2004.
