The Kalob Griffin Band (better known as The KGB) are an Americana band that were formed in Philadelphia in 2009. The band appear as the live band playing at the house party being thrown by E.L. (played by Seann William Scott) and we see them perform their song "Fortune & Fame" during the first part of the house party scene.

Formed in 1987, the Jungle Brothers are an American hip-hop group who released their critically acclaimed debut album "Straight Out the Jungle" in July 1988. Their song "Early Morning" plays towards the end of the house party scene as E.L. shows teaching assistant Jacob (played by Anthony Rapp) to the door before we go back inside to see the students dancing.

Their 2000 single "Mr. E's Beautiful Blues" plays in the movie as we see our four intrepid road-trippers, Josh, E.L., Rubin (played by Paulo Costanzo) and Kyle (played by DJ Qualls) begin their "race against time" from Ithaca, New York to Austin, Texas to recover the tape of Josh and Beth that Josh inadvertently sent to his girlfriend before she has chance to take delivery of it.

5. "Voodoo Lady"

Childhood friends Aaron Freeman and Mickey Melchiondo, who are better known by their stage names Gene Ween and Dean Ween respectively, formed the US alternative rock band Ween in 1984. Their 1994 single "Voodoo Lady" plays during the movie as we see the boys start the second leg of their road trip in a minibus E.L. "borrowed" from a blind school the morning after they stayed in a motel overnight after Kyle's car blew up.
