Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Who sang 'Birdhouse in Your Soul?'

Answer: Linnell

'Birdhouse in Your Soul' was originally recorded for the album 'Flood'. It has been on other various albums and EPs since then. It is one of their more popular songs.
2. What about 'Why Does the Sun Shine?'? Who sang that one?

Answer: Flansburgh

This song was not originally written by TMBG, but they still do a great job on it! Linnell did contribute to the vocals on this song, but it was not SUNG, it was spoken - therefore, it doesn't count. It was from the 'Why Does the Sun Shine (EP).
3. Who sang 'Istanbul (Not Constantinople)'?

Answer: both

This song is a little tricky. Both Linnell and Flansburgh contribute to vocals. They sang together for the verses and took turns during the chorus. It was first from 'Flood', although, like 'Why Does the Sun Shine?', it was not originally written by them.
4. Who contributed vocals to 'New York City'?

Answer: Flansburgh

Once again, this song was not written by They Might Be Giants (it's actually by a band from Vancouver called 'Cub'). It is from the album 'Factory Showroom'.
5. Who sang 'Boss of Me'?

Answer: Flansburgh

You may know this song from the TV show 'Malcolm in the Middle'. It has been said that John Flansburgh wrote this song about his brother, Paxus. It was never released on a full-length album; it's from the 'Boss of Me (EP)'.
6. Now, who sang 'Dr. Evil'?

Answer: neither

This was in fact sung by Robin Goldwasser, John Flansburgh's wife. You may notice that she contributes to vocals in a lot of TMBG's songs. It was written for the Austin Powers movies, and it's from 'More Music From Austin Powers - The Spy Who Shagged Me'.
7. Here's a tough one: who sang 'Where Do They Make Balloons?'?

Answer: neither

This really doesn't happen too often, but neither of the Johns sang this one! It was sung by Danny Weinkauf, TMBG's bassist. It's from 'No!'.
8. How about 'Lazyhead and Sleepybones'? Any idea as to who sang that?!

Answer: both

Yes, they did, in fact, both contribute to this one. During the chorus, they sing together, but during the verses, it's just Flansburgh. This, too, is from the album 'No!'.
9. Who sang 'Spine'?

Answer: Linnell

With this song, it's really is hard to tell. He doesn't sound quite like himself, I think. It was from the album 'The Spine'.
10. Finally, who sang 'Destination Moon'?

Answer: Linnell

This is my favorite TMBG song EVER! John Linnell sings this one, and does a fine job, I might add. It is from my favorite of TMBG's albums, 'John Henry'.

I hope you liked my quiz!
