Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In what city and year was Skinny Puppy formed?

Answer: Vancouver, 1982

When cEvin Key, (pronounced "seven"), was the drummer for Images in Vogue, he took an interest in sampling and experimentation. He met Nivek Ogre and they formed Skinny Puppy as a side project. It did not quite work out that way as they released their latest album "In Solvent Sea" in 2010.
2. Which is NOT an album by Skinny Puppy?

Answer: The Mind is a Terrible Thing to Taste

"The Mind is a Terrible Thing to Taste" is an album by Ministry, a darn good one at that. "Mind: TPI" was 1986. "Cleanse, Fold, and Manipulate" was 1987. "The Greater Wrong of the Right" was 2004.
3. Who was the opening act for Skinny Puppy on their 1988 North American tour?

Answer: Nine Inch Nails

The Puppy song "Dig It" inspired Trent Reznor to write the very first Nine Inch Nails track entitled "Down In It". "I Braineater" AKA Jim Cummins, is an artist and musician from Vancouver who did the cover art for a number of Puppy albums. "Front Line Assembly" has a connection that is Wilhelm Schroeder who played with Puppy for a bit. "Alien Sex Fiend" has no relation whatsoever.
4. Which Member of Skinny Puppy passed away from an accidental overdose of heroin?

Answer: Dwayne R. Goettel

Dwayne was actually visiting his parents in Edmonton, Canada, to try to kick the habit. He was found in the bathroom of his parents house when this unfortunate incident took place. He was 31 years old (1964-1995).
5. What are Nivek Ogres' and cEvin Keys' real names respectively?

Answer: Kevin Ogilvie and Kevin Crompton

The alias "Ogre" is very fitting as it goes well with his moaning, wailing, and eerie vocals. Not to mention his very theatrical stage shows, believe me.
6. Wilhelm Schroeder played with Puppy in the early years and later went to form his own industrial band. What is this great band?

Answer: Front Line Assembly

Wilhelm Leeb was born in Vienna, Austria and moved to Kitimat, British Columbia when he was 13. After leaving Skinny puppy in 1985 he formed Front Line Assembly, also out of Vancouver. He dropped the Wilhelm Schroeder name and goes by Bill Leeb.
7. What album from Skinny Puppy has the studio track titled "Worlock"?

Answer: Rabies

The video for "Worlock" contains very graphic images from various horror films. It was banned by MTV and MuchMusic.
8. Skinny Puppy is well known for their intense and theatrical stage shows. In 1988, Key and Ogre were arrested in Cincinnati, Ohio for "Disorderly Conduct". What was the reason for this?

Answer: An audience member thought Ogre was performing a Vivisection on a real dog.

This is from the "VIVIsectVI" tour and it featured Ogre as a doctor who eventually goes mad after performing a vivisection on a FAKE dog. I saw this show in Vancouver and the effect was astonishing. Skinny Puppy have long been outspoken about animal rights, vivisection, rape, and chemical warfare to name a few.
9. As a side project, Ogre has either formed his own project or lent himself to someone else's. Which one of these has Ogre NEVER been associated with?

Answer: Front 242

Ogre toured with Ministry from 1987-1990 and they did a great rendition of Skinny Puppys' "Smothered Hope". He was also a key member and touring vocalist for the industrial supergroup Pigface. Ohgr is his own side project and Ogre recruited Puppy member cEvin Key to take care of the drumming duties while on tour.
10. Which two members of Skinny Puppy are the only constant members?

Answer: cEvin Key and Nivek Ogre

Al Jourgensen is with Ministry. Wilhelm Schroeder (Bill Leeb) is from Frontline Assembly. Dave "The Rave" Ogilvie is a long time producer for Puppy and "unofficial" fourth member of the Band. He is no relation to Ogre.
