Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Their breakthrough single came by way of a double-sided EP. Which two songs were given as the title for this EP?

Answer: 'Prisoner of Society' and 'Second Solution'

These two tracks both appear on their debut self-titled album "The Living End". 'Mascara' and Leave Me Alone' appeared as an EP by Killing Heidi that went to #1 in Australia for two weeks (from their debut album "Reflector").
2. Which of the following songs is an original song by The Living End?

Answer: Monday

'Monday... a day like no other' - this song is about the shootings in Dunblane, Scotland, of 1996. It appeared on The Living End's self-titled debut album. 'Friday On My Mind' is by The Easybeats, 'Sunday Morning' is by No Doubt, and '8 Days A Week' is by The Beatles.
3. Which of these is an original song by The Living End?

Answer: Growing Up (Falling Down)

Also on their debut album. The other songs are sung by Blink 182.
4. 'All Torn Down' is about the industrialization of which city?

Answer: Melbourne

The Living End are from Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. 'I see the city and it isn't what it used to be'.
5. 'We're not going on a holiday, we do a lot of work and we don't get paid. Stand up don't walk away, take your pride and swallow' is the chorus of which song?

Answer: Save the Day

All of these songs are from the first album "The Living End".
6. What was The Living End's first single from their second album "Roll On"?

Answer: Pictures In the Mirror

'Pictures in the mirror, always reflecting you...'. 'Roll On' was the second single. 'West End Riot' is from the first album, and I made the title 'East End Riot' up.
7. Finish the lyric from 'Roll On': 'We'll roll on with our heads held high, Our conscience in the gutter - '

Answer: Our dreams up in the sky

This is the chorus of 'Roll On', the title track of The Living End's second album.
8. 'Like I was born on Saturday, got buried on Sunday, thought I'd never get caught. Feel like I just got married and divorced in the one day, and it's not my fault' comes from the chorus of which song?

Answer: Dirty Man

'Dirty man thought he could get away with it'. 'Dirrty' is by Christina Aguilera.
9. What is the name of the uncle who seems to have an incontinence or an alcoholism problem while he is in the bath?

Answer: Harry

'Oh, Uncle Harry, we really shouldn't laugh...' This song is really catchy (at least my friends and I think so). We had an argument over whether he is in the bath getting drunk, or whether he is just urinating. It's on the second album "Roll On".
10. Who of the following was never a member of the band?

Answer: Mark Hoppus

Chris Cheney sings and plays guitar, Scott Owen plays the upright bass and sings and Travis Dempsey used to play the drums for the band. Travis Dempsey was replaced by Andy Strachan for the third album 'Modern ARTillery'. Mark Hoppus is a member of Blink 182.

The Living End thank Blink 182 in the second album (and they also thank many other rock bands for helping them through their careers). And thank you for doing my quiz on the legendary Living End!
