British/Norwegian four piece boy band a1 burst on the scene in 1998 and although their previous eight singles had gone top ten in UK, "Make It Good" from 2002 was the first that didn't, stalling at number 11.
Shortly after this the band split, and although the band reformed as a trio in 2009, and then as a quartet again with all four original members in 2017, chart success has been hard to come by, other than a few hits in Norway.

2. In The Night

Answer: The Weeknd

Canadian R&B star, The Weeknd, (real name Abel Tesfaye), gained a large following on YouTube before having a record deal. Once he had that deal, mainstream success was still slow in coming until his 2014 track with Ariana Grande, "Love Me Harder" pushed him into the mainstream.
"In The Night" (2015) was a number 12 hit on both the Canadian Hot 100 and the Billboard Hot 100 in USA.

Wham! split up in 1986, and in 1987 George Michael released his first solo album entitled "Faith". The title track was the second single released from the album, and hit number one in several countries including Canada, Australia, Netherlands and USA on the Billboard Hot 100.
In UK it peaked at number two and George would have to wait until 1996 for his next number one there, when he made it with "Jesus To A Child".

2 Brothers on the 4th Floor are a Dutch band who have had minor success in USA and UK, but quite a lot of success in mainland Europe,with top 30 singles in Italy, Norway, Belgium, Germany and their native Netherlands.
"Come Take My Hand" (1995) from their 1996 album, "2" was a top five hit in Netherlands, but had its biggest success in Israel where it reached number one.

In "Thunder Road", the lyric is "Oh oh come take my hand".

Enrique is the youngest child of Spanish singer and heartthrob, Julio Iglesias and released his first album, recorded in Spanish in 1995. By 1997, following the path blazed by artists such as Gloria Estefan and Ricky Martin, he had made the transition to English recordings and "Hero" (2001) reinforced his reputation as it went to number one in Spain, Canada, UK, Australia and on the Billboard Hot 100 in USA.
