The song "It Might As Well Rain Until September" was originally written for
Bobby Vee as a possible single release. However, it was sidelined by his management and was only included as one of the tracks on his 1963 album "The Night Has A Thousand Eyes."
In 1962 Carole King released the song herself as a double "A" side, the other track being "Nobody's Perfect." It reached number 22 on the Billboard Hot 100 and peaked at position number three on the "British Hit Singles" chart.

It was initially only released in Australia, Sweden and Italy, but following its number one success in the Australian charts, the record producers Scott Aitken and Waterman had Minogue re-record the song and release it worldwide. It was the beginning of a very productive and successful music career for Kylie Minogue.

The song was featured in the second series of "The Monkees" TV show. It was also included as a track on the album "Pisces, Aquarius, Capricorn and Jones Ltd". Released as a single also in 1967, it peaked at number three on the Billboard Hot 100 and at number 11 on the British Hit Singles chart.

Originally just going to be titled "Tomorrow", this song has been recorded by many different singing artists over the years. It was first released as a single in 1960 by the all girls group, The Shirelles. In 1961 this version of the song reached the number one spot on the Billboard Hot 100, and had the accolade of being the first single, by an all girl group, to achieve this position.

Answer: Herman's Hermits

Earl-Jean McCrea had been the lead singer with The Cookies and whilst lead singer with them she had recorded other Goffin and King penned songs. Her version of "I'm Into Something Good" peaked at number 38 on the Billboard Hot 100. The U.K. group, Herman's Hermits, fronted by Peter Noone, released their version of the song also in 1964 and it reached the number one spot in the British Hit Singles charts staying there for two weeks.

This was their only number one single in the U.K. The group later released the single in the U.S. where it reached number 13 on the Billboard Hot 100.

In 1988 Peter Noone recorded a new version of the song which featured in the movie, "The Naked Gun".
