'You Might Think' was by the rock group The Cars. The video centered around singer Ric Ocasek and model Susan Gallagher. This was also one of the first videos to use computer graphics. 'You Might Think' also won several other awards, including best special effects and most innovative. The Cars had two other popular videos in 1984, including 'Magic' and 'Drive'.

'Sunglasses at Night' was from Canadian singer Corey Hart. In the video, Hart was not wearing sunglasses during his arraignment, although many bystanders were wearing regulation shades.

'Hot For Teacher' was a video from Van Halen. In the beginning, Waldo (voiced by Phil Hartman), was a hopeless nerd who's mother was grooming him while waiting for the school bus. She also expresses a hope that'll make some new friends while he protests that he's not like other guys.

When the school bus arrives, a load of noisy kids were on board and the bus driver (singer David Lee Roth) tells Waldo to have a seat.

'When Doves Cry' was the first 1984 video from Prince. It was also directed by Prince. The video included footage from the 'Purple Rain' movie. Prince also released another video, 'Let's Go Crazy', in late 1984.

'Like A Virgin' debuted in the fall of 1984. It was the title track of Madonna's second CD. A live version of the video was released in 1985. This was Madonna's breakthrough video. She also made two other videos earlier in 1984, 'Borderline' and 'Lucky Star'.

'I Can't Drive 55' was from Sammy Hagar. He was speeding in his Ferrari BB512i and was chased down by the California Highway Patrol. In the video, he and his bandmates were cited for speeding, resisting arrest and assaulting an officer. The judge, played in a cameo appearance by John Kalodner, swore at them and Hagar was attacked by an old lady in the courtroom.

He and the band later broke out of jail and were again stopped for speeding on the highway.

In the beginning of the video, an attractive but bespectacled young lady walks into a burger joint when she is almost hit by a motorcyclist. She is hit on by almost everyone in the burger joint except for the timid cook who gets bullied when he tries.

He eventually returns her glasses to her while the "Eliminator" girls (a group of young models) gives her a makeover and keeps her harassers from distracting the cook from courting her.

Michael Jackson's epic 'Thriller' debuted in early 1984. The price range was around $800,000. In the video, Jackson and his date (played by Ola Ray), are talking about going steady when he transforms into a wolf man and terrorizes her.

'Dancing In The Dark' was Bruce Springsteen's first video from his 'Born In the U.S.A.' CD. The video was performed live and a spectator (Courtney Cox-of the television show "Friends") was invited by Springsteen to come dance on stage with him.
