The System was formed in 1968 and he had one big hit with them ("Ramblin' Gamblin' Man"). He formed The Silver Bullet Band in 1976 their first big song being "Still the Same" in 1977.

The group had 18 top 100 Billboard hits between 1962 and 1971, the biggest hit being "Green Onions" in 1962. MG stands for Memphis Group.

For the years 1963 & 1964 the name of the group was Jimmy Gilmer & the Fireballs. During this time they had their biggest hit "Sugar Shack" which topped the Billboard charts in 1963. The Cyclones had one brief appearance on the charts with "Bullwhip Rock" in 1958.

The Willows were also one song wonders in 1956 with "Church Bells May Ring" on which Neil Sedaka played the chimes. The Meters were an instrumental group with Billboard hits between 1969 & 1977, the biggest being "Cissy Strut" which peaked at #23 in 1969.
