Wet Wet Wet are from Clydebank, Glasgow.

Reginald Dwight is of course Elton John, David Jones is David Bowie and Gordon Sumner is Sting.
There are conflicting spellings of Mark's surname - I took mine from the Guinness World Records "British Hit Singles" book.

Answer: With A Little Help From My Friends

It was of course, the cover version of "With A Little Help From My Friends", originally done by The Beatles. The song on the B side of this single was Billy Bragg singing "She's Leaving Home", with all the proceeds going to the charity Childline.
4. How many weeks was their cover of "Love Is All Around" at number one for in the UK charts?

Answer: 15 weeks

In May 1994, "Love is All Around" topped the UK singles list for an incredible 15 weeks, finally being knocked off the top spot by Whigfield's "Saturday Night".

Answer: Goodnight Girl

"Goodnight Girl" was a number one in January 1992. This single was on the album "High On The Happy Side".
