Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What is the correct lyric of the last line in "Like Spinning Plates"?

Answer: My body's floating down the muddy river

Radiohead's producer, Nigel Godrich, made singer Thom Yorke learn the lines to "Like Spinning Plates" backwards and then played them forward for an eerie result. In addition, "Like Spinning PLates" is actually "I Will" played backwards.
2. The lyrics to "I Will" are in direct reference to what major event that took place in the 90's?

Answer: The Gulf War

Thom Yorke wrote "I Will" after the United States mistakenly bombed a building full of Iraqi civilians, which they thought was a strategic military outpost.
3. Who does Thom Yorke want to emulate in Pablo Honey's "Anyone Can Play Guitar"?

Answer: Jim Morrison

Jim Morrison was a huge influence on Thom Yorke in his early days of guitar playing.
4. What are the lyrics of "Morning Bell" directly referring to?

Answer: Divorce

Lyrics such as "the clothes are on the lawn with the furniture" and "cut the kids in half" are blatant reference to the annoyances and perils of divorce.
5. In which Radiohead song does Thom claim "I'm not here, this isn't happening"?

Answer: How To Disappear Completely

Thom Yorke claimed that this song was about a dream he had, in which he was floating above ground, watching the world pass by. It's probably one of the most beautiful songs in their catalog.
6. Radiohead blasts the Prime Minister of Britain, Tony Blair, about his policies in which song?

Answer: You And Whose Army

Radiohead openly disagrees with just about everything Tony Blair stands for, and pulls no punches when singing about him.
7. What strange topic does Radiohead sing about in "Knives Out"?

Answer: Cannibalism

Though never stating why Radiohead wrote a song about cannibalism, drummer Phil Selway said that "Knives Out" was undeniably about cannibalism in a 2001 web release of the song.
8. Thom Yorke makes a reference to his "fast German car" in which song about his phobia of driving?

Answer: Airbag

Thom Yorke's intense fear of driving is displayed in more than a few songs, though "Airbag" was the only one that was released on an LP.
9. The lyrics to "Exit Music For A Film" were written for which blockbuster hit in the mid-90's?

Answer: William Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet

Director Baz Luhrman asked Radiohead to write a piece for his modern day version of "Romeo & Juliet". For the movie, the band wrote both "Exit Music..." and the trippy "Talk Show Host" but "Talk Show Host" was the only song that made it into the final cut of the film's soundtrack. "Exit Music..." played during the end credits but was not on the soundtrack CD.
10. In the song "True Love Waits", who does Thom say he will "dress like" just to "have you be in peace"?

Answer: Your Niece

Though only released on their "I Might Be Wrong: Live Recordings EP", this song has been a crowd favorite since it was first debuted live in 1995. Thom perfectly captures how someone who is in love will do anything to keep their significant other. Again, a truly beautiful song.
