"Hey Jack Kerouac" was recorded by 10,000 Maniacs in 1987 for the album "In My Tribe".The song was not released as a single, but the album reached thirty-seventh position on the US Billboard Top 200 chart.

Jack Kerouac (1922 - 1969) was an American poet and novelist who was one of the originating members of the literary movement, the Beat Generation. Some of his more notable works are "On The Road" (1957) and "Big Sur" (1962).

"Bob Dylan Blues" was recorded by Syd Barrett, formerly of the band Pink Floyd, in 1970. It was only released in 2001 though, on the 2001 album "The Best of Syd Barrett Wouldn't You Miss Me?". David Gilmour, former bandmate of Barrett helped produce Barrett's 2001 album.

The Cult recorded "Edie (Ciao Baby)" in 1989 for the album "Sonic Temple" which managed a thirty-second place on the UK Singles chart. Lead singer Ian Astbury stated in an interview in 1989:

"Edie was inspired when I was in New York City when we were recording the Electric album. I have several friends there involved in the fashion industry and one in particular turned me on to a movie called Ciao Manhattan! I became extremely interested in the Velvet Underground and the Warhol period."

Edie Sedgwick (1943-1971) was a darling of Andy Warhol in the 1960s. An actress and model, she starred in a number of Warhol short films. Sedgwick has been portrayed by Jennifer Rubin in the 1991 film "The Doors" as well as Sienna Miller in the 2006 film "Factory Girl" and various Bob Dylan songs were reportedly inspired by her.
4. Frances Farmer Will Have Her Revenge on Seattle (1993)

Nirvana recorded "Frances Farmer Will Have Her Revenge on Seattle" for the 1993 album "In Utero". The album itself was hugely successful for the band, reaching top position on the UK Album and US Billboard 200 charts.

Frances Farmer (1913-1970) was an actress and television host who acted in a number of films from 1936 to 1958 including "Rhythm on the Range" (1936) with Bing Crosby, and "The Toast of New York" (1937) with Cary Grant. She was diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia in 1942 and was institutionalised. She hosted her own television series "Frances Farmer Presents" from 1958 to 1964 in an attempt at a comeback.
5. Buddy Holly (1994)

Weezer recorded "Buddy Holly" in 1994 for their eponymous album. Reaching second place on the US Billboard Modern Rock Tracks chart, the music video also garnered four awards at the 1995 MTV Video Music Awards one of which was "best Alternative Video". The album is notable too for being produced by Ric Ocasek, frontman for the band The Cars.

Buddy Holly (1936-1959) was an American musician who released three albums prior to his untimely demise at the age of 22. He had number one hit with "That'll Be The Day" released in 1957 and achieved good chart positions with a number of other songs like "Peggy Sue" and "Oh Boy". Sadly he died in an airplane crash on February 3, 1959, together with Richie Valens and J.P. "The Big Bopper" Richardson.
6. Bela Lugosi's Dead (1979)

Answer: Bauhaus

"Bela Lugosi's Dead" was recorded for the 1979 album "Small Wonder". Despite being released as a single, the song did not enter the UK charts. The song has however been featured in films and numerous television shows including "American Horror Story: Hotel", "The Collector", "Fringe" and "Smallville".

Bella Lugosi (1882-1956), born Béla Ferenc Dezső Blaskó in Lugos, Kingdom of Hungary, was probably best known for his portrayal of Dracula in the 1931 film of the same name. He made well over a hundred films from 1910 onwards as well as acting in a number of television shows and numerous theatre performances.
7. Grace Kelly (2007)

Mika recorded "Grace Kelly" for the 2007 album "Life in Cartoon Motion". Wildly popular, it reached top chart position on the UK Singles chart as well as Scotland, Denmark, Norway, Italy, Ireland and Belgium. It did not fare as well on the US charts though, only reaching position fifty-seven. It achieved platinum or gold status in twenty-seven countries.

Grace Kelly (1929-1982) was an American actress who starred in a number of well known films, including two Alfred Hitchcock movies "Dial M for Murder" with Ray Milland and "Rear Window" with James Stewart. She retired from acting and married Prince Rainier of Monaco in 1956.
8. Andy Warhol (1971)

David Bowie recorded "Andy Warhol" for his 1971 album "Hunky Dory". Bowie was fortunate enough to be able to play the song for Warhol in person, before the album was released. The album was a success on the UK charts, reaching third position and manged to reach fourth position on the US Billboard Top Catalogue Albums chart forty-four years later, coinciding with Bowies death.

Andy Warhol (1928-1987) was an artist and director well known for being a leading figure in the Pop Art movement. His iconic images of Marilyn Monroe and "Campbell's Soup Cans" are easily recognisable the world through. To further cement David Bowie's fascination with Warhol, Bowie portrayed him in the 1996 film "Basquiat".
9. Robert De Niro's Waiting (1983)

"Robert De Niro's Waiting" was recorded by Bananarama for their 1983 eponymous album. It peaked at number three on the UK Singles chart, but only managed a ninety-fifth position on the US chart. On Billboard's "100 Greatest Girl Group Songs of All Time", the song features at position seventy-four.

Robert De Niro (b.1943) is a popular American actor who has acted in many iconic films throughout the years, starting with the 1974 film "The Godfather Part II". He won his first Academy Award for this film, as "Best Supporting Actor". His next Academy Award was as "Best Actor" for the 1981 film "Raging Bull". From 1975 to 2013 he was nominated seven times, but only won twice. De Niro has won multiple awards throughout his career and was even nominated twice for the Golden Raspberry award, which he thankfully did not win.
10. Moves Like Jagger (2011)

Answer: Maroon 5

Maroon 5 recorded "Moves Like Jagger" for their 2011 album "Hands All Over" the song features Christina Aguilera and reached top position on thirty different charts around the world, including a top ten showing on a further fifteen more. The only world chart that the song was not successful in, was Japan where it reached a lowly thirtieth position. The song was obviously also an international hit for Aguilera, which gave meant that she has had a number one hit song in the 1990s, 2000s and 2010s.

Mick Jagger is the iconic frontman for the English band The Rolling Stones. Born in 1943. he was knighted in 2002 and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1989.
