Later known as Martha Reeves and the Vandellas, they were Motown artists (on the Gordy label) with several 1960s hits including "(Love Is Like a) Heat Wave" and "Dancing in the Street".
2. Desmond Dekker

Originally they were Desmond Dekker and the Four Aces until two left the band and they became Desmond Dekker and the Aces. The ska/reggae group released many songs in 1967 but none clicked until they did "Israelites" in 1968. It got to number nine on the "Billboard Hot 100" and number one on the "UK Singles Chart".
