Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. "I got 600 miles to ride to do one more show, oh, no".

Answer: Lynyrd Skynyrd

"What's Your Name". A Skynyrd classic about actual events in a hotel. Great lyrics!
2. "So let her go, don't start spoiling the show"?

Answer: Electric Light Orchestra

"Living Thing" from ELO's "A New World Record" released in 1976. What a classic example of orchestration combined with rock guitar! One of my favorites from ELO.
3. "There will be a show tonight on trampoline. The Hendersons will all be there, late of Pablo Fanques Fair, what a scene!"

Answer: The Beatles

"Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite" from "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band". John got the inspiration for this song from an old circus poster! Amazing!
4. "There's so much that we need to share, send a smile and show you care".

Answer: Supertramp

"Give a Little Bit" from Supertramp's "Even in the Quietest Moments" album highlights a fantastic 12-string guitar riff that is nearly impossible to duplicate (trust me; I play and I've tried!).
5. "Go to a show, you hope she goes. I've got nothing to say but it's ok...."

Answer: The Beatles

"Good Morning, Good Morning", another from "Sgt Pepper's' was inspired by a cereal commercial that John saw. I love the animal sounds in the coda! (Ruff!)
6. "Welcome back my friends to the show that never ends. We'd like you to attend; come inside, come inside."

Answer: Emerson. Lake and Palmer

ELP's "Karn Evil #9 (1st Impression)". Written in the key of D major, one of the fastest keyboard riffs I've ever tried to play (and failed!). Emerson, at one point, plays the keyboard backwards. Phenomenal!
7. "Oh won't you show me the way...everyday. I want you...show me the way"

Answer: Peter Frampton

Frampton's use of the "voice box" remains the starting point for all future use of this incredible device!
8. "Walking on the wire, high wire. But I must let the show go on".

Answer: Three Dog Night

The name "Three Dog Night" comes from the Eskimo lore "the colder the night, the more dogs are brought in to sleep with". The coldest being a 'three dog night'. Leo Sayer wrote this classic circus song, but 3DN had the hit. Love this song!
9. "Relax, I'll need some information first, just the basic facts, can you show me where it hurts?".

Answer: Pink Floyd

I thought I'd give you an easy one for the last question! AC/DC...Yeah, right! From Pink Floyd's "The Wall", this along with "Dark Side of the Moon", remains one of rock's most popular and recognizable hits.
10. Ok, now, without cheating, what word appears in all the previous 9 questions?

Answer: show

Hope you enjoyed my quiz! Thanks for playing, Bwebster.
