On his solo 1973 album "Boulders" he played all of the instruments (apart from the harmonium on track one which was played by John Kurlanderwhich) which included guitars, cello, saxophone and recorders; he also did all of the voices. He wrote, arranged and produced the album and did a self-portrait for the front cover.

He formed Wizzard after leaving E. L. O. and they had six Top Ten between hits on the UK singles chart between 1972 and 1974. This included two number one hits "See My Baby Jive" 1973 and "Angel Fingers" 1973.

As a soloist David Cassidy had ten Top 20 hits in the UK which included six Top Ten hits and two number one hits between 1972 and 1985. In the US he had one Top 20 hit between 1971 and 1990. This was "Cherish" which peaked at number nine on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1971. It peaked at number two on the UK singles chart as a double A-Side single with "Could It Be Forever" in 1972.

The group from Wolverhampton, UK, were the first artists to have three records enter the UK singles chart at number one. "Cum On Feel The Noize" 1973, "Skweeze Me Pleeze Me" 1973 and "Merry Xmas Everyone" 1973.

They came together as The 'N Betweens in 1965 from various other groups. In 1969 they changed their name to Ambrose Slade and were now managed by ex-Animals' bassist, Chas Chandler. Their first UK chart hit as Slade was "Get Down And Get With It" 1971.
