Answer: Elizabeth Bathory

Hungarian Elizabeth Bathory (1560-1614) is described as a vicious, brutal torturer of young girls for her own pleasure. She was taking great pleasure in beating girls with barbed lash or having the girls dragged naked into the snow, throwing water over them until they froze to death.

It is reputed that she was bathing in young girl's blood, in order to retain her skin young and soft. Anna Darvula was a lover and accomplice in crime with Elizabeth Bathory. Elizabeth Montgomery is an actress and Anna Pavlova a Russian dancer.

Answer: Josef Mengele

Josef Mengele served on the Russian front before getting injured and sent to Auschwitz as a medical doctor. There he experimented on inmates and was especially interested with people having some sort of anomaly. His favourite subject, though, was experimenting with twins. Among other horrific things, he used to inject their eyes with dye to see if the iris would change colour, or he used to infect one twin with a disease and observe the reaction of the other.

After the war he managed to escape to South America and died in Brazil in 1979.

The other three were arrested after the war and sentenced to death at the Nuremberg trials. Hermann Göring committed suicide after the trial.

According to the Gospel of Matthew, King Herod was so enraged at the failure of the Magi to return to Jerusalem, that he ordered the execution of all male infants under the age of two that lived in and around of Bethlehem. The feast day of the Holy Innocents is celebrated on December 28. Pilate, Annas and Caiaphas were responsible for Jesus' death sentence.

Answer: Maximilien Robespierre

Maximilien Robespierre was the leading force of the Committee of Public Safety. Under his guidance tens of thousands of people were executed. It is worth noting that the Reign of Terror lasted for less than a year (5 September 1793 - 28 July 1794). Georges Danton, one of the original members of the said Committee, was also executed.

The bloodshed was brought to an end, after Robespierre was overthrown. Very aptly he was also guillotined! François Rabelais was a writer and Jean Racine a playwright.

Kim Il Sung started the Korean War which caused the death of more than 2.5 million people. After the war he went about killing everybody that he considered as his enemy. Most of the high military officials that participated in the Korean War were executed and along with them their entire families.

He set up concentration camps and imprisoned over 200,000 people. Kim Jong Il was the son and successor to Kim Il Sung while both Lee Myung-bak and Roh Moo-hyun were presidents of South Korea.

Nero Claudius Caesar Augustus Germanicus reigned from AD 54 to AD 68. He brought the Empire to near destruction and blamed the Christians for the fire that burned Rome. He crucified, poisoned, impaled, beheaded, stabbed, burned and boiled people. Nero was so cruel that the Christians thought that he was the Antichrist. Augustus was the first, Caligula was the third and Claudius the fourth Emperor of Rome.

Attila reigned over the Huns from 434 to 453 AD. He consolidated his power after murdering his brother Bleda. His Empire stretched from Ukraine to Germany. He was cruel, bloodthirsty and wanted to destroy the Roman Empire. During his rampages in the Roman cities he killed many tens of thousands of people. Alaric was the King of the Visigoths and Timur was a Mongol ruler.

Leopold II was involved in the exploitation of the Congo basin, after establishing the Congo Free State, which until 1908 was the personal property of Leopold, not a Belgian colony. Congolese people were forced to collect wild rubber, palm oil, ivory and work in the mines.

The workers were set targets, and if they failed to meet them, were punished severely. Beatings, lashings, severing of hands and death were the punishments meted to the unfortunate natives. Whole villages were burned and millions of people died in Leopold's drive for acquiring private wealth. Albert I succeeded Leopold II as King of Belgium in 1909. Up to 2014 Belgium hasn't had another King named Leopold.

Ignatius Loyola established the order of Jesuits and General Franco was dictator of Spain in the 20th century.

Ivan the Terrible was a Russian tsar, Genghis Khan a fierce Mongol ruler and Hannibal Barca a Carthaginian leader.
