Answer: The Bronx, New York

Miles Davis (May 25, 1926 - September 28, 1991) had a 45-year career as a jazz trumpeter. He changed his style of play every few years. Many consider his album "Bitches Brew" (1969) the best of his recordings. Miles succumbed to respiratory failure and is buried at Woodlawn Cemetery in The Bronx.

Alan "Moondog" Freed was born December 21, 1921 and died of uremia on January 20, 1965. Freed was the Cleveland, Ohio radio personality who is credited with coining the term "Rock and Roll", in 1951. He was cremated and his remains are in the Ferncliffe Mausoleum in Hartsdale, New York.
3. Where is comedienne Gilda Radner interred?

Gilda Radner (June 28, 1946 - May 20, 1989) joined TV's "Saturday Night Live" in 1975, the show's first year. She was the first actor cast for the show. She created many memorable characters for the show such as Roseanne Roseannadanna, an obnoxious woman with wild black hair would tell stories about celebrities' bad habits on the show's "Weekend Update" news segment.

She was married to actor Gene Wilder at the time of her death from ovarian cancer. Gilda is buried at Long Ridge Cemetery in Stamford, Connecticut.
4. The "Beat" stopped for Sonny Bono on January 5, 1998. Where are his earthly remains?

Answer: Cathedral City, California

Salvatore "Sonny" Bono was born February 16, 1935. He married Cherilyn Sarkisian (Cher) in 1964. Sonny wrote popular songs but when he and Cher started singing his compositions as Sonny and Cher, they were hits. They recorded "I Got You Babe" in 1965, and "The Beat Goes On" in 1967.

The duo had a popular TV show from 1971 to 1974. The show lasted throughout many marital problems. After they divorced, Sonny was Mayor of Palm Springs, California (1988 - 1992) and then won election to the U.S. House of Representatives in 1992, serving there until his death. Sonny was killed when he apparently lost control while skiing and struck a tree.

He is buried at Desert Memorial Park Cemetery in Cathedral City, California.
5. Who was Harold Lloyd Jenkins, and where is he buried?

Answer: Conway Twitty - Gallatin, Tennessee

Jenkins (September 1, 1933 - June 5, 1995) was known as Country singer Conway Twitty and is buried at Sunrise Memorial Park in Gallatin, Tennessee. Twitty could have been a professional baseball player, having been offered a contract by the Philadelphia Phillies. Twitty entered the Army and served in the Korean War.

His biggest hit was, "It's Only Make Believe" (1958). He had a theme park called Twitty City in Nashville, Tennessee.
6. Where is boxing manager Cus D'Amato interred?

Cus D'Amato (August 20, 1908 - November 4, 1985) was a boxing manager. He is most well known as the manager of Mike Tyson. Unfortunately, Cus died of pneumonia two months before Tyson won his first championship. Cus also managed the careers of pugilists Floyd Patterson and Jose Torres in the Fifties and Sixties. D'Amato is buried at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Catskill, New York.

Answer: Guildford, Surrey, England

Charles Lutwidge Dodgson (January 27, 1832 - January 14, 1898) wrote children's stories under the name of Lewis Carroll. He most notably wrote the tales collectively known as "Alice in Wonderland." Carroll/Dodgson died of a bronchial infection and is buried beneath a pine tree at the Mount Cemetery in Guildford.

An American football player, Brian Piccolo was born on October 31, 1943 and passed away on June 26, 1970. Piccolo played fullback for the National Football League's Chicago Bears. He complained of breathing problems that were diagnosed, in 1969, as Embryonal Cell Carcinoma.

His treatment began, to no avail. Brian's cancer is curable today, but was almost always fatal 40 years ago. A charity was set up in Piccolo's name as the "Brian Piccolo Cancer Research Fund" and continues to pour large amounts of cash into cancer research today. Brian is interred at Saint Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Evergreen Park, Illinois.

Hayes, a Pima Indian, was born on the Gila River Indian Reservation on January 12, 1923. He died of exposure related to alcoholism on January 24, 1955. He was the best known of the six flag raisers. Johnny Cash immortalized him in "The Ballad of Ira Hayes". Private First Class Hayes and six others raised the flag over embattled Iwo Jima Island in the Pacific Ocean on February 23, 1945. In the famous photograph Hayes is visible as the highest hands on the flagpole.
