Answer: Patrick Lichfield

Patrick Lichfield was the 5th Earl of Lichfield and cousin of Queen Elizabeth II. He started his photography career in 1962 as a £3 a week photography assistant. At various times he worked for most of the top magazines including "Vogue" and "Life". In 1981 he took the official wedding photographs of Prince Charles and Princess Diana.
2. Which photographer is usually given credit for the discovery of model Jean Shrimpton?

Answer: David Bailey

David Bailey was born in London in 1938. Leaving school with virtually no qualifications he started as a photography studio dogsbody before rising to fame in the "Swinging 60s". During that period he photographed everyone from rock stars such as the Rolling Stones and The Beatles, to celebrity gangsters such as the Kray twins.

He had a four year relationship with model Jean Shrimpton, during which time she became one of the best known and highest paid models in the world.

As well as being a society photographer, Beaton was also an acclaimed film and stage costume designer. He won the Academy Award for Costume Design for "Gigi" and "My Fair Lady". During the war years he was seconded to the Ministry of Information and took photographs of the effect of the Blitz on everyday Londoners.

In June 1937 he travelled to France to take the official wedding photographs of the Duke and Duchess of Windsor.

Taken in 1960 Alberto Korda's portrait has become the iconic image of the young revolutionary. Che Guevara was involved in Castro's take over of Cuba, and played a major role in Cuba after the revolution. He trained the troops who resisted the Bay Of Pigs invasion, and was heavily involved with the Soviet missiles, whose transportation to Cuba prompted the 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis.

He was executed in Bolivia in 1967.

In addition to his well known "pop culture" images of soup cans and Marilyn Monroe, Andy Warhol was a prolific photographer who took many self portraits. His 1986 self portrait, which depicts him with wild hair and is coloured completely red, hangs in the Tate.

She remained a beautiful, elegant lady to the end of her life. Mark Shaw took many more photographs of her, John Kennedy and their children, and several of these were published in a 1964 book.

Howard Sochurek joined "Life" in 1950 and was with them for two decades working all over the world.
