1. William Shakespeare
Answer: Anne Hathaway
Anne Hathaway was the wife of the playwright and poet William Shakespeare. They married in 1582. Very little is known about Hathaway, including her name. Her father's will left money to her under the name of Agnes Hathaway. She received the inheritance upon her marriage.
The couple had three children: Susana, Hamnet and Judith. Upon Shakespeare's death, Anne received his second-best bed, according to her husband's will. Anne's childhood cottage is now a museum outside Stratford-upon-Avon.
2. William Jefferson Clinton
Answer: Hillary Rodham
Hillary Rodham married Bill Clinton in 1975 and the couple has one daughter, Chelsea. Hillary Clinton was born in Illinois and attended Yale Law School. She worked with the House Judiciary Committee as an adviser during the Watergate Scandal. She gave up her legal career when her husband entered Arkansas politics.
She served as First Lady of Arkansas from 1979-1981 and again from 1983-1992. She became First Lady of the United States in 1993. In 2000, she was elected a U.S. Senator from New York, where the Clintons had purchased a home after the president's term of office expired.
She was reelected in 2006. She ran for the Democratic nomination for U.S. President in 2008. She was defeated by Barack Obama who then appointed her Secretary of State.
She was the Democratic nominee for President in 2016 but lost the controversial general election to Donald Trump.
3. William the Conqueror

Legend states that Matilda had refused to marry William because she was born a noble and he was not. William then grabbed Matilda by the hair and dragged her through town. Her father challenged William to a duel that never happened because Matilda eventually agreed to marry William.
It is known that Matilda and William had at least ten children. Matilda got along well with all ten of them but William did not and that caused some strife between husband and wife.
4. William McKinley

Ida Saxton married future U.S. President William McKinley in 1871. The couple had two daughters, Katie and Ida. Both children died very young which may have been the cause of Ida's health problems as she became severely depressed as a result. She suffered from epilepsy (it is believed) which the president used to hide from the public. McKinley once allegedly covered her face with a napkin during a White House party to cover her seizure.
After her husband was assassinated in 1901, Ida's health deteriorated quickly.
She did not attend his funeral and her younger sister was forced to care for her until Ida died in 1907.
5. Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands

Queen Maxima of the Netherlands was born in Argentina in 1971. She married then-prince Willem-Alexander in 2002. The couple met in Spain in 1999 and he hid the fact that he was a prince from her and she thought he was joking when he told her the truth.
Their marriage was somewhat controversial at the time because Maxima's father had served in the cabinet of Argentine dictator Jorge Videla. The couple have three children: Catharina-Amalia, Alexia and Ariane.
6. William Faulkner

Estelle Oldham married writer William Faulkner in 1929. Faulkner was Estelle's second husband. She had been previously married briefly to Cornell Franklin who was a childhood friend of Faulkner's. Both Franklin and Faulkner were in love with Estelle but she married Franklin because he proposed to her first. That marriage was unhappy so Estelle left him for Faulkner.
However, her marriage to Faulkner also had its ups and downs. Faulkner had numerous affairs and his mistresses influenced some of his novels. He was also a heavy drinker which hindered his writing.
7. William Penn

Hannah Callowhill was the second wife of Pennsylvania Colony founder William Penn. The couple had eight children, two of whom died young. Penn also had eight children with his first wife Guilelma. Callowhill was very active in the running of Pennsylvania colony. William had suffered a series of strokes that left him unable to govern, so Callowhill took control.
She also received control of the colony upon William's death in 1718.
8. William Randolph Hearst

Millicent Willson was the wife of newspaper magnate William Randolph Hearst. They married in 1903 and had five children, all sons. Prior to her marriage, Millicent was a vaudeville actress and dancer. Her marriage to William became strained in 1926 because of his affairs, mainly with Marion Davies.
They became estranged and she hardly ever saw William again. The two were still married when he died in 1951. Their sons frequently sided with their mother in their parents' feuds.
9. William Pitt the Elder

Hester Grenville was the wife of British Prime Minister William Pitt the Elder. She is also known as the Countess of Chatham. Hester was married William at the age of 34 in 1754. She had known William a long time as he was a friend of her brothers. She is also the mother of another Prime Minister, William Pitt the Younger.

Queen Mary II married the future king William in 1677. Mary was upset by the marriage but was forced into it by her father James II (or James the VII of Scotland). It is said that she cried tears of sadness all throughout the wedding ceremony. Mary II accompanied her husband everywhere he went.
She was popular with her subjects in England, Scotland, Ireland and the Netherlands where William was from. The couple never had children as Mary suffered a series of miscarriages that made her barren. William and Mary's ascent to the English throne in 1689 is often called the Glorious Revolution.
